From the Goetia:
“He appeareth in the Form of a Beautiful Man, riding upon a Winged Horse. His Office is to go and come; and to bring abundance of things to pass on a sudden, and to carry or recarry anything whither thou wouldest have it to go, or whence thou wouldest have it from. He can pass over the whole Earth in the twinkling of an Eye. He giveth a True relation of all sorts of Theft, and of Treasure hid, and of many other things. He is of an indifferent Good Nature, and is willing to do anything which the Exorcist desireth.”

Seere appears as a handsome man riding a winged horse, an image that immediately recalls the myth of Pegasus and his rider Bellerophon. The symbolism here is striking: Pegasus has long been tied to poetic inspiration, divine swiftness, and the ascent of human thought toward the heavens. The Goetia states that Seere’s offices are to travel swiftly over the earth in the twinkling of an eye, to bring abundance, to transport things wherever required, to reveal thefts and hidden treasure, and to fulfil almost any reasonable request of the conjurer. He is noted as “of an indifferent good nature,” which is unusually positive compared to many spirits of the Lemegeton.

Connolly’s reading of Seere builds on this good nature, portraying him as able to grant a clear perception of any situation or person, unfettered by emotion or bias. This emphasis on clarity of vision makes him valuable for magicians needing objectivity and insight, especially when clouded by personal entanglement.

Mirta Wake provides a practical summary: Seere can bring situations to pass, arrange for transportation, reveal the location of lost or stolen items, and assist in uncovering hidden wealth. She adds that highly sensitive people often find Seere easier to connect with, while those with more grounded or rigid temperaments may find him elusive.

Jehannum’s notes are more esoteric, associating Seere with Carezza, an older term for the practice we now call edging in sex magic: the deliberate cycling of arousal without release, heightening energy for magical use. While this is relevant to all erotic-magical practices, it suggests Seere has a particular affinity for controlled build-up and release of power — much like his association with swiftness, suddenness, and the quick transport of energies or objects.

The Goetia Ritual interprets Seere’s equestrian form as symbolic of the human body as a vehicle for spirit, the horse representing dynamic power, intellect, and the fleetness of thought. His powers are described as transient, ephemeral — he can make things come and go as easily as waves reshaping the shoreline. This aspect suggests that he is not only a bringer of abundance but also a remover, dissolving attachments and washing away memories or obstacles. There is a subtle warning here: Seere can impress dreams upon the conjurer with such force that they strike like a blow, showing both the potency and potential harshness of his revelations.

In practice, Seere is a favourite among many magicians for his swiftness and willingness to help. His good-natured reputation sets him apart from more volatile spirits, making him a reliable ally for tasks involving transport, discovery, and the rapid manifestation of desires. He is best approached with clarity — vague petitions risk being swept away in the tide of his speed and ephemerality. When worked with deliberately, he can open pathways, reveal truths, and swiftly move both the magician and their circumstances toward new horizons.
