I would place Valefor in the category of cursing and manipulation.

He teaches loyalty and manipulation, and in that regard the teaching of loyalty also encompasses how to create disloyalty between two people. Manipulation encompasses the ability to charm others so that you get what you want.

In the arena of cursing, Valefor covers everything. This means that he can help you to curse someone to the point of death (and help you hide the body according to Jehannum), but this also means that he can remove bad habits and get rid of astral parasites or spirits that have been sent to you by another in order to do you harm and have attached themselves to you. In this aspect, cursing is the removal and expulsion of something. Cursing is about cutting away.

Rufus Opus mentions Valefor “makes good fetches (he and his legionnaires) – they are good short-range eyes, useful for gathering information, getting small amounts of cash to fund magical projects, and finding places to purchase obscure occult items.”

Jehannum also mentions that Valefor’s specialties are thievery, refining dexterity and hand-eye coordination, breaking bad habits, increasing mental acuity, self-esteem, feeling like you are in control, overcoming personal limitations, enjoyment and pleasure, and initiation.
