Into the Wood

You have entered the Three Sisters Wood, and as you travel deeper into its heart, you notice it seems to grow darker.

Long thought to be haunted, The stories of these woods stretch very far back in time. According to one source, There was a woman living on the hill that borders these woods. She was neither young nor pretty, yet men loved her. However, she was an evil woman, who would give her favors to any man, but once a year, while the man whom she favored slept next to her, she would turn into a cat and tear his throat out.

Legend has it that a monk came to the woods, who had a crucifix that was resistant to her charms. He killed her, burned down her hut, and raised three stones on top of her grave site to keep her down for good.

The three Stones are out in these woods to this day…however they are large, and many thousands of years older than the christian religion. So the story is obviously a tall tale, told by christian missionaries, to glorify the exploits of their comrades in overthrowing the ancient pagan faiths. You wonder what the truth of it is. Your answers may be ahead.
