Defining God and Satan

I would like to talk about God and Satan.

Rather controversial topic and I think everybody has their own interpretation of what God and Satan are, depending on who you talk to and their background.

Because of this channel and the topics I speak about and because I’m a Daemonolater I think it’s quite important to get an understanding of what I personally mean when I talk about God and Satan.

I find it funny because whenever somebody asks me the question of who is the highest being, who is the top dog sort of thing, who is the biggest Daemon, I would say God and it gets a rather interesting reaction most of the time.

Let’s start with Satan.

Satan is the Adversary.

When it comes to Satan, again, everybody is going to have an interpretation.

A Christian is going to have an interpretation which is completely different to a Satanist. A Satanist is going to have an interpretation which is completely different from a Daemonolater.

When it comes to Satan, again, we’ve got very personal interpretations.

For me, Satan is the All, and when I say All I mean the Spirit or Ether, that which is the Elemental King, which is everything.

In this regard, because we are on the left-hand path we talk about antinomianism, and antinomianism is about going against the grain.

It’s going against the grain of society. It’s going against the grain of societal thinking, and actually thinking for yourself. It’s about developing yourself. It’s improving yourself.

This is very much the Adversary.

You are being adverse to what everybody else has been teaching you, has been telling you.

Adverse to the way you’ve been raised.

A lot of people who are listening to this podcast, myself included, come from a western society and that western society usually raises us to believe that demons are evil, God is good, Satan is bad etc. etc. but there’s a lot of other things in there. We are taught how we should react to certain situations. We are taught to suppress our anger.

There are a load of things, we’re supposed to get married and have a child and live happily ever after with that one person.

It’s not always the case.

With the left-hand path and antinomian behavior we go against the grain of society. We question it, but it’s not about becoming a criminal. It’s not about everybody’s good therefore we’re going to be bad.

It’s about questioning all of the things we’ve been taught. Questioning the way we’ve been raised. Questioning the way we have been programmed to think and programmed to believe. Questioning all those things and then doing something which is more in line with our own nature and again, that doesn’t mean becoming a criminal.

In fact, becoming a criminal can be completely against being antinomian, because it would pull you down and bring you down. You will be in a position where you can’t move forward, you can’t grow.

You have to take all those points into account, but when it comes to antinomianism, we are talking about going against the grain of society and that is being the Adversary.

But there’s more to it when it comes to Satan.

My personal interpretation of Satan is that I am Satan. I am the All. I am the creator of my own life, my own future, my own destiny. I do magick in order to change the outcome of something. I do magick in order to alter the energies around me, my environment, my circumstances, in order to move myself into a direction I want to go in.

That is what being Satan is about, it’s about thinking for yourself, about standing up and about improving yourself, about empowering yourself.

If you haven’t already you’ll probably come across this whole thing of “becoming a living god” at some point. When we are talking about becoming a living god, it’s not actually about becoming a god, you already are a god or a goddess.

You come to realise what you already are, and you can then grow from that and grow on that.

We are trying to become a living god, or realising that we are a god or a goddess, and through that we become the creator of ourselves, and we become the creator of our own lives. If we look at the normal construction of the Daemonolatry Circle in Modern Daemonolatry, we find the placement of the Five Elemental beings.

We have the four Elemental beings or four Elemental Kings around the circle and then we have the axis mundi, which is Satan, the All, Ether, Spirit.

Because you are standing in the middle of the Circle, you become the creator of your microcosm which then reflects into the macrocosm.

You are the axis mundi.

You are the world tree.

You are that aspect which is the creator, and you are therefore then Satan.

That is my interpretation. That’s how I see it.

Years back, when I was working with Satan and Satanism specifically, Satan did come through as an entity and that entity was one which was very much connected to the earth, the earth realm itself. He was very much in love with humans and wanted us to grow as a species, wanted us to grow as people, as individuals and as a collective as well.

There was that aspect of Satan being an entity which was separate from me, but as I’ve developed, there’s an overlap that happens and that entity became me.

We could argue that all of the entities are us. We can argue that they are archetypes of us, they are parts of our nature. They are forces of nature which are external to us, but also internal to us, because we are connected to everything.

These arguments can go on and on and they can get a bit bogged down with terminology, understandings and interpretations.

We are the entity and the entity is separate from us.

It’s just all a big mishmash of stuff and you really need to delve into how to understand that.

But you also have to try and remove yourself from the idea that we are individuals and also try and remove yourself from the idea that this physical world is all there is. Even if you believe that this physical world is one thing and we have an astral world, it doesn’t mean that they are separate. They are combined, they are the same. One is a dream, the other is a dream.

To try and put it simply. You are Satan, you are your own Satan, you are your own god or goddess.

That’s how I view the whole aspect of Satan anyway, working from what I work with.

When it comes to God, I take the Kabbalistic approach in this interpretation where I’m not talking about the Christian God. The Christian God, from what I’ve seen and from what I believe, is an Egregore, and that Egregore has been created by thousands and even millions of people over a very long time. A very powerful Egregore, but not the God of the Hebrews, not the God of the original texts and not the God of Kabbalah.

From Kabbalah we understand God to be Everything and No-Thing and what this means is that God is everything that we can possibly touch, see, smell, feel. You can experience God with all the senses, but also with thought, or imagination. Whatever we can imagine, is God. So it’s everything that we can understand, everything we can experience, but at the same time is also nothing which means that God is also those things that we cannot experience, that we cannot understand, that we cannot touch, that we cannot smell, we cannot see.

We could say that God is everything in that case but then we are getting into areas where everything becomes everything that we can experience and we can’t experience everything about God.

We cannot completely comprehend God.

We cannot completely understand or put it into some kind of context.

The Toltec warrior path has a really good explanation of this. We talk about the tonal and the nagual.

The best interpretation of this I’ve ever seen, or ever read, was to imagine that the tonal is an island and beyond the island is an expansive sea. It’s a never-ending sea and that sea is the nagual.

The tonal is everything we can experience, everything we can comprehend, interpret, imagine, touch, feel, see, hear, smell. Everything that we can put into an experience of some kind, even if it’s a physical experience or whether it’s an experience of imagination, or an experience of taking a concept and interpreting it in a certain way.

That’s the tonal and that is our tonal. Everybody’s tonal is different.

Beyond that is the nagual. The nagual is everything that we cannot understand. Everything that we cannot experience. Everything that we cannot interpret in any fashion.

If we take something out of the nagual and we interpret it, we give it definition, then it becomes part of the tonal and it’s the same with God being Everything and No-Thing, so Everything is the tonal, No-Thing is the nagual.

If we take something out of the No-Thing and we give it definition, then it becomes part of the Everything.

This for me is God and when I speak about God, I speak of God as being Everything and No-Thing, and therefore God, everything, demons, gods, goddesses. Any form of deity, any form of pantheon, anything, any spirits, high, middle, lower, astral parasites, the mighty dead, the ancestors, the people that we interact with, the environment that we interact with, the furniture in the house, everything is God.

Therefore all the deities, all the Daemons are also God.

We are God and we are also Satan.

Instead of talking about myself as being a God, I prefer to talk about myself as being Satan because I am therefore the All within my own microcosm, the All within my own space, the All within my own environment and that All which creates my own life but at the same time I am God the Everything and No-Thing because I am connected to that everything and nothing.

That’s why my interpretation of God as everything and nothing is the ultimate being, the ultimate power.

These are just words. God is just a word, Satan is just a word.

When we talk about God, quite often immediately people just click and think the Christian God, it’s just a word, and that word can be interpreted in many, many, many different ways.

I think everybody needs to come to their own understanding and their own personal interpretation of what these words mean to them and go from there.

Not everybody’s interpretation is going to be the same and that’s fine. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We don’t agree on everything. We don’t need to agree on what God is. We don’t have to agree on what Satan is, but as long as we understand what each one is talking about and what we each understand those words to be, then we can have a conversation, and if we can have a conversation then we can come to understandings and from there we can grow.

What’s been happening for a very long time, and what is still happening, is people just immediately put up a wall because somebody says a particular word which they interpret in a completely different way to the other person. They just put up this wall because they are not willing to understand how that person interprets that word.

It all boils down to communication at the end of the day.

Define these things yourself, but also understand that everybody else is going to define it as well and define it their way. In order to communicate, to grow, to understand, to learn, to change, to develop ourselves, we need to allow ourselves to understand other people’s interpretations.

Through that we can develop ourselves more and grow.

Working With Daemonic Energies

Today I want to talk about what happens when we work with Daemons, the energy exchange that happens, and what takes place.

I think a lot of people have this impression that we do a ritual, we evoke a Daemon into the space, usually with the use of a Triangle of Arte if you’re working with Goetia, and then we tell the Daemon what to do, it goes off and it comes back and it gives you what you want.

That’s not quite what happens and I think understanding this from an energetic point of view is very important in achieving your goals.

When we work with demons, they mostly like to empower us. They like to see us grow. Allow us to become stronger. Allow us to get the things that we want in our lives. In order to do this, things need to change within ourselves.

If we want courage and we’re a timid person, something’s got to change, the Daemon is not just going to make you courageous. There’s an energy that needs to alter within ourselves in order to become courageous or to understand what it means to become courageous.

When we are working with the Daemons, when we’re asking them for things, I think a lot of people have this impression that they go off and bring it to you. As an example, let’s say you are asking for treasure to be revealed. This can be in the form of business, or promotion, or a job if you are looking for a job. A treasure can be a new job that comes to you.

What the Daemon will actually do is align things in your life, but also in yourself. They will change the energy within yourself so that you can move in a particular direction.

Imagine it like walking down a path. That is where your energy is taking you, but in order to get to where you want to be, you’ve got to go on a different path. As you are walking down this path, if your energy doesn’t change or alter in any way, you are going to continue on that same path. So, your energy changes, it alters and suddenly this new path appears and you are now able to see it. That’s usually what happens to most people.

There’s a shift that takes place and sometimes it may be that the Daemon will just put something in your path like a road sign or something like that, so that you can move into a particular direction.

If you need to heal from something then a change in your energy needs to take place.

Of all of these things there’s a change within yourself that actually happens, so what you are doing is working with the energy of the Daemonic. You are calling a particular Daemon which works with a particular aspect and energy. You then incorporate that into your own life and that energy starts to alter your own energy or add to it, improve it, increase it or in some cases decrease it depending on what work you are doing. If it’s getting rid of a bad habit, for instance, the energy that you put into that bad habit needs to decrease the energy of the bad habit.

It’s all about energy and when we’re working with the Daemons, there’s offerings we make. Being Daemonolatry it’s quite often a blood letting. You prick your finger with a lancet, you offer just a drop of blood and that is an energy exchange.

However, it’s not always blood. I’ve had cases where I’ve been asked to give some quite strange things like an old shoe off my left foot. I have worked with a Daemon who asked for just a slice of bread with milk on it, but there is an offering that takes place and the offering itself is a form of energy exchange.

You are working with a Daemon in order to apply their energy into your life to alter your life, to alter your energy, and because you’re taking energy, you need to give energy, the offering of the energy in order to keep a balance, so keep that in mind.

When you are working with the Daemons, it’s always best to ask what the Daemon wants and trust yourself in this. When you start out working with Daemonoloatry it can be quite difficult to know what the Daemon wants, but trust yourself. You’ll ask and then you’ll probably get an impression and you’ll think that’s a bit odd, like I say an old shoe off my left foot was definitely something I did not expect to get asked for. Just trust yourself, the impression you get is the thing that is being asked for.

Also remember to use discernment and make sure that you’re actually working with the Daemon you are calling instead of an astral parasite, because if they start asking for things like hurting yourself or hurting other people it’s probably an astral parasite and not the Daemon you are trying to communicate with.

If you get some requests that don’t seem right, seem harmful in any way, just get that discernment bone going and make sure that you are working with the spirit you are wanting to work with.

But as for the offering, in most cases it’s just a drop of blood and that blood is part of yourself and that is why it’s an offering. It’s energy which comes from yourself, but there is that energy exchange that takes place. You are taking energy and using it, therefore you are giving energy to replace that.

It’s very similar to you going to the graveyard and doing some graveyard work. You are going to go and gather some graveyard dirt. You are going to take energy away from the graveyard, therefore you need to replace that energy, so there’s an equal balance and exchange that happens.

Throughout life, whatever it is there’s always an exchange that needs to take place in order to keep the balance. If you are working or you’ve got a business, you do a job, you do a service, you produce something for somebody in order for that exchange to take place you usually get paid for that service or item or whatever it is that you actually did, so there is an energy exchange that happens.

There always needs to be an energy exchange of some kind, and it’s not always that obvious, but working with the Daemons, we are working with the energy of the Daemonic, and I think that is important to understand.

As I say, it’s not this entity that runs off or shuffles away and grabs something and brings it back to you and puts it in your lap. In most cases it is trying to empower you to move in a particular direction, trying to give you strength, trying to give you the courage, trying to alter your energy, alter your makeup in order to become more powerful to get what you need in life.

I think of the old explanation of doing magic to get a job for instance, it’s no good sitting back and waiting for the job to come to you. You’ve got to put in your resume to 100 companies, but the magick will make it more possible for you to get a job that you actually want. But if you just do the magick and sit back and wait for it all to come to you, nothing’s going to happen because you’re not doing what you need to do.

It’s very similar here. You can’t expect the Daemons to go out and just bring everything to you and just sit back and wait for it. You need to do the work. You need to go out there and make your own life. The Daemonic energy is going to make that possible. It’s going to shift things in your life, it’s going to put things in your path so that you alter direction.

Daemons as Aspects of the Psyche

Welcome back to the podcast. This is Season 2 and we will be covering some varied topics this season, but mostly revolving around Daemonolatry. So, without further ado, let’s get straight into it.

I had a question from a follower which read:

“I’ve heard that people correspond to demons to parts of the ego. Is this true and for example how Asmodeus is the demon of lust, can you call it demonic possession if a person is driven by lust?”

It’s actually a very big topic and there’s obviously lots of different schools of thought on this. If you look at Crowley’s version of the Goetia, there is a chapter in there titled “Initiated Interpretation of Ceremonial Magick” and Crowley goes through a whole discussion of how the Daemons, even the Names of Power, the seals, the colours, the incense and all of the correspondences are used to stimulate all the senses and to stimulate sections of the brain.

He says the spirits of the Goetia are portions of the human brain and the seals therefore represent methods of stimulating or regulating those particular spots.

I don’t completely agree with Crowley and I will explain why just now.

It’s an interesting thought and a very interesting topic.  The Daemons, the seals that we use, the colours that we use in an evocation or invocation. All of those things are used to stimulate portions of the human brain and therefore stimulate parts of the psyche which relates back to the question regarding the Daemons corresponding to different parts of the ego.

What Crowley was trying to say was that using the seals and all five senses within a ritual will stimulate parts of the brain and these parts will then bring out certain aspects of ourselves, which correlate to the aspects of the Daemons we are evoking, invoking etc.

It’s quite easy to see it that way, because for instance, if you use a Daemon which has the aspect of discovering treasure, then that could stimulate parts of your brain, which enhance your business acumen.

In a sense you can use it to stimulate parts of the brain and parts of the psyche to bring about different results and it’s a very good way to actually do it, but when you are working with Daemons, or in my experience at least, this is only part of it.

To get back to the question.

If somebody is driven by lust, are they Daemonically possessed?

It depends on the case.

If somebody is so driven by lust that it’s uncontrollable and it’s a continuous thing, then it’s usually a chemical imbalance. It could be something that needs to be attended to by a psychologist and a psychiatrist.

It’s possibly something that is imbalanced in the person themselves and in the years gone by, in ye olde days, if anybody was afflicted by anything, whether it was a disease, whether it was a psychological problem, it would be equated to Daemonic possession, but now we are a bit more advanced. We’ve discovered a lot more with psychology and such, but somebody can have an unhealthy imbalance within themselves, which drives them to lust, and as I say it can be a continual thing. Something that they cannot control.

You can also have a healthy lust. Something that comes up every now and again and you express it.

As with everything, you have your healthy and unhealthy sides.

You will find that when you work with the Daemons, and I’m going to stick with Asmodeus specifically, there is something else that happens.

Each Daemon has a particular energy and when you channel that energy through you, you channel the aspects of that Daemon, because it’s that energy that is filling you up and therefore it, for a period of time, changes you.  So if you are channelling the energy of a Daemon which has a particular aspect of being particularly good with business, for instance, then you channel that energy and you become particularly good with business, because you are filled with that energy.

When you’re working with somebody like Asmodeus or any other lust Daemon for that matter, you are going to be channelling that energy of lust, and no matter what you are actually doing, no matter what work you’re doing, you’re going to have that energy in you, which means you’re going to be left with those feelings of lust for quite a while.

The first time I worked with Asmodeus, I was completely horny for 48 hours, you know, over the top type of horny, but it is not the same thing as saying somebody is driven by lust in an unhealthy way, very different, it’s controllable, it’s something that is actually quite pleasurable.

We look at things like lust as being bad or evil, because that’s again how we’re raised in the Western society, but lust is a very healthy thing, lust can be used for incredible things.

It can be used for magick. Lust is a very strong driving force and if you can transmute it into something different and use it for magic, it’s incredibly powerful. Just looking simply at sex magick. Some people aren’t really wired that way and maybe a bit uncomfortable with it, but if somebody is using sex magick, they can use it for incredible outcomes to their magick work.

When we talk about working with the Daemons in this aspect, is it part of the ego, the human brain or part of the psyche?

There are various different ways we can work with Daemons and it’s not just  Daemons, you can take parts of your own psyche and ego and separate them, split them off, and identify them. So we’re going to continue with the question.

You take your lust and you separate it, you personify it and you assign that to a Daemon or you can go into chaos magic and make it into a servitor and when you want that particular aspect you can invoke that particular aspect, fill yourself up with that particular aspect, that particular energy. If you’re finding you’re having a bit of an imbalance you can go to that aspect, the Daemon, the servitor, however you’ve personified it and speak to it and ask it to just settle down, balance things out or go to a different aspect of your ego or your psyche which has been identified, and that part can then come in and bring back balance.

There’s all different ways you can work with this.

You can do as mentioned just now, take parts of your psyche or your ego, personify them, assign them to different Daemons so that you can actually work with them in that way, or, you can invoke the Daemons as entities, as separate beings from your own psyche, from your own self and you will then invoke the energy of that particular Daemon, that particular spirit and fill yourself with that energy so that you can bring out those aspects within yourself.

This discussion can go on for a very long time, because you can look at it from all different perspectives. For instance if we look at the idea that we are god, we are mind, we are the architect, we are all, we are everything. We may be individual consciousness in a particular time, but we are that aspect which is everything. We’re all connected to One. It’s probably the easiest way to put it. We are all One. So, we may be an individual consciousness, but we are part of that One and being part of that One makes us that One.

When we look at it from that perspective then all of the Daemons, the spirits, the gods, the goddesses etc. that we may consider to be separate entities are also part of us and they are us.

Many different ways to view this whole thing and it’s very important to examine these aspects, but when you’re doing the work itself, the way in which you view this, whether you are viewing them as part of the psyche or whether you are viewing them as separate entities from yourself that you pull in, speak to and interact with, that’s what’s going to affect your work.

It’s no good thinking something like: “Okay, well this is a separate Daemon, but I don’t really believe it is, I believe it’s part of my psyche,” and then try to force that aspect or idea that it’s a separate entity. It doesn’t fit with your own thinking. It’s just not going to work, so in a working itself, it’s better to work with the ideology that fits you personally, but at the same time also consider and also think about all of the different aspects, all of the different ideologies that make it all possible.

I like to work with the Daemons as separate entities, as energies that are beyond myself, which I then pull in, fill myself with and work with for a period of time. That energy then dissipates and moves on and I continue in that fashion instead of identifying those aspects as part of myself, but I know at the same time it’s all the same thing.

You just need to get to the outcome that is easier for you. It ‘clicks’ better is probably the best way to put it. What ‘clicks’ better for me may not be what ‘clicks’ for you. Everybody needs to find out what works for them, but you have to examine all of those ideologies first before you can actually decide which is your best fit.

For a long time I did have a battle. I was going back and forth from this idea that a Daemon is part of my psyche and then I would consider it as a separate entity, but then it made sense that it’s part of my psyche, but it’s actually a separate entity because of the way I interact with it. It’s not the same as how I was considering interacting with my psyche, but it just made sense and I was going back and forth for a long time, for years and finally realised that it’s all the same thing anyway.

Don’t try to split one ideology off from another because they are doing the same thing, they just seem different. It’s simply just the approach that we take to something, but it doesn’t mean that the approach we take is any different to the approach somebody else takes, it’s just that it’s something personal and feels better for us.

I think that answers the question.

If it doesn’t, just leave a comment and we can discuss it further if need be.

Some Final Words on Servitors

Everything has a lifespan, including the servitors you create, but how long that lifespan is, is determined by the actual purpose of the servitor, and if something goes horribly wrong what do you do? How do you get rid of the servitor instantly? Let’s have a look at those questions in more detail.

When it comes to my own servitors, I have a bit of a problem or difficulty in this area, because I do come to be quite attached to them. They are my creations, they are my children and, just like my real life child, I wouldn’t want to suddenly get rid of them.

The actual death process can be a bit difficult, but it’s a servitor and depending on what the servitor is created for, what its task is, will determine how long that servitor is active for.

If it’s a once-off task, then you can program the servitor to die after the task is completed.

In some cases the servitor is something that is ongoing through your whole life, maybe it’s something to do with health, maybe something to do with your business, your financial situation and things like that. These types of servitors continue to operate throughout your entire lifetime, so they will die when you do.

All these things should be programmed into the servitor at the very beginning.

When I say die, what I mean is, a servitor is a body of energy and that energy comes from a source, whether that be from you, the Elements or somewhere else, depending on how you created it.

At the end of its life span it then disintegrates back into the energy from which it came from. So if you created it from your personal energy, it just disintegrates back into your own energy.

If you created it from an Element, let’s say Air, it disintegrates and becomes the Element of Air again.

The energy body is a concentration of energy from the thing you created it from.

The death process is one where it just dissolves and disintegrates.

Apart from a programmed time that it will cease to exist as a servitor, if you are feeding it and then forget to do so, it will eventually die anyway. Like anything, if it is not being fed, it won’t survive.

If the servitor is being fed from an external force, such as the energy of another person or maybe it is eating negative energy that is being sent to you by other people, which is a constant influx of energy for the servitor, then it’s going to continue being fed and therefore won’t die. In a situation like this, it’s good to remember that the servitor could grow and become sentient and could start wreaking havoc, especially if it has a hoard of food at its disposal that never runs out. It will become a big fat servitor.

What do you do in the case of a servitor that has started running rampant? Maybe something just goes completely wrong.

Simply program a kill-switch at the beginning. It may be a command, a certain action, word or series of words that you do or say, and once done the servitor is no more.

What I like to do is I create the servitor’s name ending in a certain letter or syllable, such as EL. I then program it so that if I remove those letters or change them to something else in the name, say the name three times, and then clap three times, it will die, dissolve, disintegrate immediately.

Wherever it is, whether it’s in its house or off somewhere, this is pre-programmed in. It’s just a fail-safe just in case something does go wrong and you need that in order to just basically kill it. I hate using that word kill. I don’t like killing my servitors. I don’t like when my servitors die, but that’s just me. Maybe I get too attached to my servitors, who knows.

The other aspect to consider here is if you have housed your servitor in a vessel, I like to use stones, which makes the next process quite easy for me. But once the servitor has served its purpose, completed its task, and died, what do you do with the vessel?

Quite frankly, there is nothing magical about it anymore, it’s just an empty vessel, it’s just an ordinary piece of furniture around the house.

You can for intents and purposes, throw it in the bin. If it’s a nice vase or a jar or an ornament or a statue of some kind, then you can just clean it and put it on the shelf.

The reason why I like using stones, which I take from a river, is that I can then return it to the river once it has served its purpose. That’s just my personal process.

So just to recap, the lifespan depends on the purpose, the task that it has.

If it’s a once-off thing, then as soon as the task is complete it dies. Otherwise if it is an ongoing task with no predetermined ending point, then you can program it so that when you say a particular word, do a particular action, visualise five things coming together and saying a particular word, whatever it is, whatever you feel works for you and something you’re not going to accidentally do, then you can pre-program that in as you create the servitor.

How many servitors is too many and what happens to our own energy? How much energy does a servitor actually require? How much does it take?

Very important questions to ask before going down the road of servitor creation.

When it comes to servitor creation there are a lot of questions regarding energy, use of personal energy, Elements, or some other source. Feeding it over a long period of time because a lot of servitors that you create are going to be around for a long period of time. Some of them could last for you the rest of your lifetime.

In a previous podcast I did mention that you should only create one, maybe two servitors, that are active at any one given time and the reason for that was the amount of personal energy that they take, if you are feeding them from your own energy.

If however you are using the Kabbalistic method where you feed them from the Elements, you’re not using your personal power and therefore it doesn’t drain you.

As you go more into servitor creation you’ll find you’ll start questioning things about the energy, about where it comes from, how the servitor is fed, how much energy the servitor needs. That all depends on your servitor and how active it is.

Of course if it is feeding from an external source, such as success from sales of a product that you sell for instance, then you don’t need to worry about your own personal energy and the health risks of becoming too drained.

Some people will say that you have to feed them once a week from energy that was generated within yourself or energy that you pull in from the Elements, energy that you pull in from places.

There’s lots of different ways you can build up the energy and feed the servitor.

That kind of approach gives a lot more energy to the servitor, so how much energy is enough.

I don’t think anybody can really agree on this but what I do want to mention is the use of personal power, the use of personal energy or your own chi in creation and feeding of the servitor.

In a lot of magical rituals and a lot of magical practices and acts we do expend a lot of energy, especially with servitors.

In the creation process itself, we do expend a lot of our own energy, in which case it usually leaves us feeling drained afterwards. Obviously we are going to regain that energy over two or three days, maybe a week, depending on how much energy you actually used.

During that period you will have to remember that your energy level, your chi, is so low that you are susceptible to disease and illness because you don’t have the protection. Chi actually builds up and is pushed through the skin creating an energy layer that is just above the skin. It’s called Guardian Chi. This layer above your skin is what protects you from outside influences, disease, viruses, things like that.

If you completely drain that Guardian Chi, you are going to be a lot more susceptible to these diseases and therefore it can be detrimental to your health, so if you have a very weak immune system, I will definitely advise you to be very careful with the approach you are going to take.

You have to develop your own personal approach and when you are developing these systems, these methods that are personal to you, you’ve got to use your imagination.

Think about it, educate yourself about what could happen or what might happen if you do this or that.

In one of Damon Brand’s books, he mentions that he houses the servitors in parts of his body.

The servitor might be housed on the tip of the tongue, one might be housed on the tip of the index finger, one might be housed on the tip of the right thumb or the whole right thumb, all different parts of the body. In this instance we could consider using something like the practice of Chi Gong to build up more Chi in order to feed them, but until you can actually gauge how much energy the servitors are taking, especially on a collective basis, you could end up depleting your entire guardian chi and become unhealthy, and if you have a couple hundred all housed over your body, you are going to need to produce a lot of energy.

It really needs to be looked at from a person-to-person basis.

Some people do build up a lot of energy naturally, as do I, but other people find that it depletes very easily. It depends on your lifestyle, it depends what you eat, it depends what exercise you do.

This all becomes personal to you, so how many servitors should you create?

It really depends on you.

While we are on the topic of energy draining, something you might want to consider, especially if you are a man, is the seven day creation method where you are using sexual fluids and orgasm to create your servitor. If you look into Chinese medicine and such things as Chi Gong, even tantric practices, you will find mention of men being drained of chi whenever they release semen. If you are doing this over a seven day period, you may not even have enough energy left at the end to launch your servitor. Just a curious side note there.

If this is a concern for you but you still want to use this method of creation and launching, then you can always build up the energy and concentrate it, and then on the last day, use orgasm and sexual ecstatic states in order launch your servitor.

When it comes to magick there is no right or wrong way. Well, there can be a wrong way, because if you do something wrong it can go completely haywire, but what I mean by that is if somebody says this is the only way, they are talking nonsense.

There is no “only way”, there are lots of different ways you can accomplish a task or accomplish the act of doing magic, and you have to find the one that works best for you. You’ve got to keep developing and building.

Just make sure you adapt and grow, don’t get stuck in a rut thinking this is the way to do it and there’s no other way, because you’ve got to keep developing yourself, you’ve got to keep growing yourself.

Keep adapting, keep growing and you’ll become better and better as you go, and it never ends.

What do you do when your servitor isn’t pulling its weight and isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do?

There are a few options here, so let’s have a look at those.

Quite often we create servitors and send them off on their way and we wait a week, two weeks and we don’t get the results that we were anticipating.

There could be a few reasons for this.

Maybe it doesn’t have enough energy.

Maybe it was programmed slightly wrong. There’s possibly a bit of a misunderstanding.

The objective of the servitor is to go off and do its task and what you programmed it to do and what you intended it to do. Sometimes we find that doesn’t happen.

There are three main options here.

The first one is to kill it. Just get rid of it and start again.

To do that we can go back to the fail safe, the kill-switch, although if you can call it home then you can absorb it back into yourself, or dissolve the energy back into the Element, or just return it to the source that it was created from.

After you’ve gotten rid of that one you can then create a new one.

Just rethink the model, rethink the tasks that it’s meant to do, maybe rethink how you are creating it all together. Maybe a different method would work better.

In the first case it’s destroy and recreate.

In the second instance you can just find a different energy source.

Maybe the one you’re using isn’t potent enough to get the job done, so you can change the energy source or you can increase the current energy source.

If you are giving it personal power, maybe you want to do some work where you are raising more energy within yourself in order to feed it.

You can use Chi Gong to generate more Chi or use the cone of power method from Witchcraft. Either way and whatever method you use, generate more energy, therefore giving it more energy, and then see if that works.

Giving it more energy doesn’t always get the results that you want though. You will have to again wait a week or maybe two to see if you get the results that you want after doing that, and then you may want to fall back onto one of the other methods if it doesn’t work.

It may be that you programmed it wrong. You may have had an intention in mind and the words that you used don’t quite relay that intention.

In many regards this wouldn’t happen because the intent you have gets pushed with the will and desire that you have. The words you use are not what the servitor is going to understand as the task.

Just rethink it. Go back to the drawing board. Look at how you structured it, how you structured the intent and what you told the servitor to do and maybe a change will do the trick.

The third method, which is probably my preferred method, is to create a supporting servitor.

Here you have your original servitor, which is doing its task, but not as good as it should. You then create another servitor to come in and help with the tasks, it aids the first one so they do the task together, but if it’s a complicated task then maybe the other one can split off and do some subsequent work, while this one is busy doing whatever it needs to do and then bring that work back, bring the energy back to the original one and give the original servitor support in what it needs to do. Sometimes there are just too many moving parts for one servitor to handle.

That’s definitely my preferred method because it does allow you to keep your original servitor around without having to feed it more energy or trying to figure out what went wrong.

This second servitor can actually hold the task of passing on communication to the first. This will allow you to communicate new messages to it which brings me to how to grow your servitor in its intention.

As an example, let’s say you have a particular product that you are trying to sell on a website. You create a servitor to bring people to the website, make them aware of the product and get them to purchase.

Subsequently you are working on another product which supports that first product. Now, you want to work with the same servitor you already have working on the website traffic and customers, because that servitor surrounds all of these processes and products. You can add to its programming to help you finish the development of this supporting product, and once it is ready, you then add to the programming of the servitor to also sell this product alongside the first one.

That is one servitor for the entire process.

What you can do is create two servitors that are all supporting each other and all working together.

One for the website sales and one for the development of the new product, instead of having just one trying to handle all of those things. You could even create a third one to join force with the first one and sell the new product alongside the first servitor that is selling the original product.

They would each focus on their areas, but they will all work together because it’s all part of the business.

So instead of putting too much demand and too much pressure on one servitor to do all the work, which may require it to need more and more energy. You can split that between two or more different servitors, all working on the same larger goal.

It’s very similar to sigil shoaling where you’re creating multiple sigils that have broken down a bigger goal into smaller parts of that goal. All work together to attain the larger goal. Team work.

If you want to get creative you can also bring a robofish into it.

For instance you have three servitors that are each focusing on a particular area of a larger goal or task, but you can have one servitor which is overseeing everything else. That servitor can report back to you on progress and any problems that are arising. This one becomes the manager or team leader.

Magic is an art so you have to get creative with what you’re doing. Get as creative as you need and remember to colour outside the lines.

That’s it for the first season of this podcast. I will be back on the 5th of May with some incredibly exciting topics. In the meantime be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel. The Appearance of a Servitor & Feeding Methods

The good thing about servitors is that they are your own creation and therefore you can actually create them any way you want them to appear.

What they look like is completely up to you, but there are some things to bear in mind.

When I was learning kabbalah I was taught that all the spirits, in this context specifically speaking about the Angels and the Archangels such as Raphael, Michael, Gabriel, and Uriel, don’t have a physical body, they are bodies of energy. Imagine them as a ball of energy, and I believe this extends to all Spirits and Divine Intelligences

The reason why people have given all these spirits bodies or physical appearances is because we relate better to something we can actually associate with.

When it comes to servitors a lot of people give their servitors an actual physical form. Personally, I tend to create a servitor as a ball of energy.

During the gestation period, the actual creation period, what often happens is they stay a ball of energy, but other times they start forming into some kind of anthropomorphic form.

It can be anything, the last one I created actually transformed into a Phoenix.

When it comes to your servitors, as I say, you can create them in any way you want them to look, but if you are going to give them bodies of famous people or superheroes or something like that, you need to bear in mind that they come with  particular characters and associations, and unless that character and association ties in exactly with the task of the servitor then it might end up going in a slightly different direction than what you intended.

Just some things to keep in mind when you are deciding what you want your servitor to actually look like, even if it remains a ball of energy. If it’s a servitor or artificial elemental that has been created from Fire it might be a red ball of energy. If it was created from water it might be a blue ball of energy.

If you are going to create multiple servitors, then you might get slightly confused about which one is which, especially when they all appear together.

You do however know which is which. There is a certain energy about each one that you can relate to and you know which servitor is which, but you might want to (just for your own sake) give it a form, give it a natural body so you can more easily identify them.

You see a centaur and you know which servitor it is.

When you’re actually doing the creation process, the ball of energy that forms into a body that you can relate to can happen at a later stage; it doesn’t have to be decided right at the beginning.

It can also take on its own form, but when I say it’s own form, it’s not it deciding what it wants to be, it’s more a development of your own psyche at the end of the day.

Your servitor has a particular task that it needs to do and as you are creating the servitor you might start associating a particular form with the task that it’s intended to do.

I find that when I decide to create a servitor and it’s going to perform X, Y & Z tasks, during the process of the actual creation, those defined tasks may start to change a bit, because over time we think maybe we should have added this to it or that to it.

Things will change, so you don’t need to add those things to the task during the creation process, but those things do start creating form and start to give an appearance to the servitor.

Just let it happen in its natural way, just like a baby really.

During the gestation period of a human we all look the same, right at the beginning when we’re just divided cells, but as the fetus starts to develop and starts to form, then we all end up looking different.

It’s very much the same thing. You know you’ve decided you’re going to create a servitor.  You take it through that gestation period which is simply a ball of energy, and then you birth it at the end, but during that period it might form into something that looks a little different to what all your other servitors look like.

Even if it is a body of energy, you might have a ball of energy that has something a little extra than a plain ball. It may be a red ball with blue streaks or a yellow ball with purple spots.

It’s really up to your imagination at the end of the day.

Each one can and should look different to all the others you create.

There are some people who will say that forming your servitors into the appearance of mythical beings like a phoenix or a griffin, shouldn’t be done because there is a particular energy surrounding that form itself. I do disagree. Coming back to the last one I created which took on the form of a phoenix. There’s an association with the phoenix which is ancient, thousands of years old maybe and therefore it has a particular energy around it, but that energy comes into the actual formation or into the actual task of the servitor.

In this instance, it developed into a phoenix because its tasks were associated with a process of rebirth, and because the phoenix is historically connected with that association, it became ideal for the servitor that I was creating.

I didn’t start out with that intention, but as it was being created, I realised the associations, the tasks that it was set to do, and it became a phoenix.

Don’t be particularly pedantic about it, don’t set your mind on a form or appearance until it’s been created.

Even after it’s creation, if you still have a ball of energy, somewhere along the line it starts to develop into a form. That’s fine, let it grow.

It has to start somewhere and as you keep feeding it, it will grow. It will become stronger, it will become more adept at the task that it was set to do and as it grows it may form into an appearance that is ideal for its association, for its tasks.

Don’t be so fixed on what it should be and should do and what it should look like right at the beginning, because change is constant, we can’t decide on something now and just leave it that way for the rest of our lives. We have to flow with the current, we have to adapt, we have to change ourselves and therefore our servitors, our own  creations are also going to change, they are going to adapt and they are going to morph.

Once you’ve created a servitor you will need to feed it in order to keep it alive.

There are some standard methods that people generally talk about and use, but there are a lot of other methods that you can look at. I wanted to look at two specific methods today.

The reason we feed our servitors is because if we don’t they start to dissolve back into the energy that they came from.

The creation of a servitor comes from energy, which is usually your personal energy or that of the Elements.

I’m sure that we could come up with other ways to create a servitor, but generally it’s a concentration of said energy into a concentrated body.

That body we then programme with intent and certain instructions on lifespan, tasks, and how they feed.

The general way to feed the servitor is with the energy it was created from, or you can use your own personal energy, you can build up chi and use the excess chi. You can raise the energy of an Element and feed it with that energy.

There are a lot of different ways that you can feed it.

You can use blood which is always from yourself, nobody else or an animal, only from you, and it only needs to be a drop, and blood sustains life.

There are a lot of other methods, but let’s talk about the ones I want to focus on.

The first one I would like to speak about was in a comment from someone on my YouTube channel, and it’s brilliant.

It comes from the work of Masaru Emoto. He was a Japanese businessman and pseudoscientist.

In 2004 he brought out a book containing images of the experiments he had been doing with water and emotions. The idea is that you programme water with a particular intent, and what he was doing was programming different vessels or containers of water with different emotions. He would then freeze the water and photograph the actual molecules of the water crystals. He found that water that was given the emotion of happiness, love, joy and things like that, had a very beautiful outcome. The formation of the crystals, the formation of the molecules created this beautiful pattern, whereas if they were given the emotion of hate, anger, frustration, all the negative emotions, then they would actually explode and they would form disconnected patterns that were in disarray, unlike the others which were ordered.

This is actually quite a good manifestation technique in itself in which that you take water and you concentrate emotion, and you visualise your intent into the water, and then you take it into yourself as you drink it and that brings the programmed molecules into your body which then helps your own body and the intent of the actual manifestation work you’re doing.

The commentator said that because she was programming water with solar energy and words, she got the idea to feed her servitors.

I actually put water on my altar, just for the spirits in general, so you can try to use this to feed your servitors. Place a glass of water that has been programmed with the intent of the servitor’s task next to its home and it can then feed on the energy.

The other one that I want to talk about is to give them offerings, as we would with other entities. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone mention this method. We can give them offerings of food, drink, even coins, jewellery, or shiny things.

A lot of people question how to actually give an offering to a deity or a nature spirit, but there are various ways that people go about it.

Some people will just take an extra helping of food at dinner time and put it on a separate plate and give it as an offering to the spirit. The next morning they will probably take it outside and leave it for the birds, ants and other animals in nature to consume.

There was a post that I read earlier this year, I think it was on a black magic forum, about giving offerings and how long you should leave the offering on the altar for and how to dispose of it, things like that. The answer I found to be extremely interesting.

The reason why we give offerings of food and drink to spirits is that they consume the energy from that offering.

The act of giving the offering itself is an act of giving energy, and then the food and the drink itself has an energy in it.

With the food, specifically, as the food breaks down, it starts to degenerate, then the atoms, the molecules start to release energy as it decomposes.

As the food is decomposing, the molecules themselves are releasing energy, and so you leave the food for as long as you can. When it comes to a point where it’s finished decomposing or whatever point you actually want to get rid of it, because it could get a bit smelly, then take it outside and bury it in the ground.

The same thing happens with liquid offerings. Whether it’s an alcoholic drink or whether you put milk and honey out or even just water. It will evaporate and through that evaporation process, it’s releasing energy, and it’s that energy that feeds the deities, the nature spirits, the house ghosts, the brownies that keep your house nice and tidy, if you don’t keep it tidy yourself. You should though because otherwise the house ghost is going to get very upset with you.

So, why not give offerings to your servitors in the same way?

When it comes to feeding your servitors, think about ways you can do it. The whole thing is about releasing energy, to give energy, and it’s that energy that actually feeds the servitor.

If you can think of a manner that does this and will feed the servitor, then try it, use it and if you think of anything else, then leave them in the comments or send me a voice message on Anchor. I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate any ideas.

Creating Servitors or Artificial Elementals in Practical Kabbalah

Today I’m going to talk about how to create an Artificial Elemental which is the same as a servitor.

We call it the Artificial Elemental in Kabbalah because it’s created from the elements rather than using personal energy or personal power which is mostly used in Chaos Magick.

There are quite a few differences between the creation of a servitor in Chaos Magick compared to practical kabbalah, which is why I decided to give them each their own spot to prevent any confusion.

To begin with, we’re going to need to create a name and a seal, or a sigil, that represents the Artificial Elemental, much like in the Chaos Magick method. In order to do this we need to use what is called the Yetziratic Wheel.

If you are familiar with Ceremonial Magic, specifically the Golden Dawn, you would have come across the Rose Cross.

The Rose Cross has two parts, the rose is the central part with the cross behind it. You’ll notice that the rose has three layers of petals. The inner layer, which has three petals are the three Mother Letters which represent the three Elements, Air, Fire and Water.

The next layer are the seven Double letters which represent the planets or celestial bodies, and finally the outer layer is the zodiac which are the twelve Simple letters.

When it comes to the Elements, in this particular application we only use air, fire and water, whereas in modern Magick, people often use the Element of Earth for Workings relating to money. So, if you want to create an Artificial Elemental for anything money related, what can you use?

It’s quite simple. Air is your mental element. It’s about intelligence, the mind, the brain and such things. Fire is more about passion, igniting things, getting things moving. Water is emotional, sexual.

Let’s look at some examples of what you would do to create an Artificial Elemental for money related aspects.

A simple example would be a client that isn’t paying you, you need them to pay faster, or you need them to move faster. I’ve been doing web development for years and often come across cases where the client says that they need this and that by tomorrow, but trying to get the information out of them can take weeks and even months. In this case, you can use Fire, because it gets them moving. It ignites a flame under their backsides so to speak. Same with client’s that aren’t paying. Ignite fire under their backsides to get them paying.

Now, let’s have a look at Air.

Let’s say for instance you have an online business and you’re creating a course that you want to sell. Here, you can use Air to inspire you to create the course because it’s all about knowledge, it’s all about the mind. You’re bringing knowledge to people, so that would be the aspect of Air.

Now, let’s say you’ve created the course, and you want people to go sign up for it, then you might want to use Water, because it’s an online course that usually solves a pain point for your clients and for your audience.

What you may want to do is ignite emotions, play on their emotions in order to get them to sign up for the online course.

You can use the three elements in a way that doesn’t directly refer to the money, but they refer to the actions that you need to take in order to receive that money.

So, back to the creation of our Artificial Elemental. First, we create the name and the sigil as I mentioned previously. I’m going to use the example of having created an online course which we now want people to sign up for.

I am going to use Water and Air because I want to play on the audience’s emotions to drive them to go and sign up for the course, but the course is an online course and therefore it’s about receiving knowledge, which would be Air.

Using the Yetziratic Wheel, or the Rose Cross, we start with the zodiac, which is the sun sign of the person you are creating the Artificial Elemental for.  If it is for you, then you would obviously use your own zodiac. If there is more than one person involved with the situation then you can use multiple sun signs. I’m Virgo, so we are going to use that in this example.

Then you need to select a celestial body. In this case I might choose Jupiter and Sun, or Sol. We could also add Moon, or Luna, in this instance as it relates to dreams and emotions.

You will then go into the Elements, and here we are going to use Water and Air.

Now we have a selection. Virgo, Luna, Sol, Jupiter, Air and Water. When I draw the sigil I like to start with a circle and end with a curved line. The reason for this is the circle is representative of the beginning and end. It flows continually and it is the zero point, the nothing from which all things come and all things return. From this zero point the energy then travels along the lines. The curve at the end will bounce the energy back along the lines of the sigil, creating a continual flow of energy.

So, we start in Virgo with the circle, and then draw a line from there to Luna, then to Sol, then to Jupiter, continuing to Air and ending in Water, which gets a curved line to cap it.

You then need to take each of those and relate it back to the Hebrew letters. If you have my book, Elementals & Servitors, you will have all of the references in there. The eBook can be purchased on my website leewjohnson.com

As per our example, we’ve got  Virgo, which will be the letter Yod. Luna is Gimel. Sol or Sun would be the letter Resh. Jupiter would be Kaph. Air is Aleph, and finally Water is Mem.

You take all of these letters and you combine them and then come up with a name.

In this case we have Yod, Gimel, Resh, Kaph, Aleph, Mem. So we might create the name I’GRe’Ka’AM for instance.

So now we have the seal or the sigil, and the name.

Draw the sigil on a piece of paper, take it to your altar and standing in front of your altar you start breathing in the elements and direct them towards the sigil and build up again a ball of energy above the actual sigil, seal, whatever you want to refer to it as.

Now, just a quick break for some shameless, but necessary promotion. The next part of the process involves breathing techniques and pulling in the Elemental energy into your body and then directing it out of various points of the body. I will run through it briefly here, but the full explanation is not viable for a podcast discussion. If you would like to know more, please go to my website leewjohnson.com and purchase the eBook, Elementals & Servitors (it is $6.25). You will also find the Yetziratic Wheel with the translations and tables for the Elements, Planets and Zodiac with their related Hebrew letters.

And now to get back to it, and to put it into a nutshell, you will be standing in front of your altar and then you surround yourself with the element.

Because I’m using two elements here, you would work with one Element at a time, so you would breathe in Air and direct that into the seal and then breathe in Water and direct that one.

It gets a bit difficult sometimes if you do that, so try and stick to just one Element, it just makes it a lot easier.

For the purpose of example, I am going to continue with just Water.

You surround yourself with the Element of Water and then you would breathe that into your pores. This is called pore-breathing.

Once you have pulled the Element of Water into your body, you then push it out and direct it, or concentrate it into a space on the seal or sigil. The points you push the energy out from are the five main energy points which would be brow, throat, heart, solar plexus and groin and out of each fingertip.

As you do this you focus that energy onto the seal and start to create a ball of energy. You then repeat that process over and over again so that the ball of energy starts to build up and grows bigger and bigger until eventually you’ll start feeling it push against you. When you feel that, just carry on pushing more and more energy into it so it becomes more concentrated.

Eventually when you’re ready, you then need to launch it, however, this is only necessary for the one type of Artificial Elemental.

There are two types of Artificial Elementals that you can create, much like in the Chaos Magick method spoken of previously. One that’s going to go out and do tasks and one that’s going to be formed inside an object, so it will be housed inside the object.

For the first one, where you are going to be sending it off to go and do whatever the task is, you would do as was mentioned earlier, pull in the energy, direct it into a concentrated space on the sigil and build up that energy. You then take your power hand and hold it just above the seal, or above the altar. You then slowly move your hand in a clockwise direction, all the time chanting the name of the Elemental.

As you circle your hand and chant, you progressively move faster and faster until it becomes a frenzy. When you’re going really fast, your hand starts moving up off the altar and you move even faster and faster then eventually you throw up your hand, shout GO and send it out.

The other type is where you would put it into an object, such as a plant, a tree, or a rock for protection of your property maybe. You could put it into an amulet or a necklace for protection of yourself, put it into a book for gaining knowledge. There are a lot of ways you could actually use this, but it’s something you want to keep close by.

In other words, it doesn’t need to go off and bring things back or whatever it may be doing if you send it away.

Now for this part you will need to understand what a Nefesh is. To explain it briefly, a Nefesh is the Lower Self, one of three parts of the soul spoken of in Kabbalah. It’s worth finding out more about the Nefesh as it is quite potent and quite powerful.

The Nefesh is the part of the soul which is action based.

The Ruach is the part that retains memory and so the two work quite well together because the Ruach, which is the Middle Self, is the rational side and the Nefesh is the irrational side.

The Nefesh will go out and just take action, whereas the Ruach retains the memory. Without memory it’s kind of useless, so the two work hand-in-hand.

Everything has a spirit in Kabbalah, absolutely everything, every blade of grass, person, being, object, everything has a spirit and therefore everything has a Nefesh.

The Nefesh is the part that you use for the practice of Identification. There’s lots and lots that we can say about the Nefesh. It has knowledge of everything. It can be bi-located and split into two separate bodies, so the Nefesh can appear in physical form somewhere else while you’re in a completely different place.

But to get back to the Elemental, you will be doing a type of Identification, which is a practice where you enter the body of something else. For this example we are going to use a tree.

By entering the tree, you become the tree. Your Nefesh combines with the Nefesh of the tree, and you have access to all memories, emotions and everything of the body that you are entering.

In the case of the Artificial Elemental and the type which is housed, you basically combine it with the Nefesh of the body, the tree in this example. The way you would do this is similar to what I explained before, but instead of creating a ball of energy and directing from the fifteen points of your body, you would build up a ball of energy between your hands by using pore-breathing whereby you project the energy out of and between the hands. As you build up the energy, you start to feel resistance as the ball of energy grows between your palms.

With this method, you place your hands around the object. So, you breathe in an element and then you breathe out between your hands, building the energy in the object and therefore the Elemental gets combined with the Nefesh of the tree.

When you are done, and if it is an object that is small enough to move, you can take it and place it wherever it’s meant to go so that it can do its job.

Incidentally, if you do a property protection Elemental which you put it into a rock, into a tree, or into a plant and put it somewhere on your property, you can create multiple ones.

If creating a property protection Elemental, a good Element to use is Air because it’s about the brain, the mind, the thinking process. It might not be so obvious why this would be protective though, so let me explain.

Imagine somebody comes onto your property with ill intent. They’re coming to rob your house. The Elemental jumps into action because it realises that the person has ill intent. The person stops, gets very confused, turns around and walks off the property and as soon as they’re off the property they realize what they were there for. They might then come back again, and as they enter the property they get confused again and can’t remember why they were there. They walk off the property and eventually they just give up. It’s because Air is being used, it creates the confusion in the mind of the person who has ill intent.

So when you’re creating, really think about what Element you can use. Sometimes the answer is not that obvious.

Creating Servitors in Chaos Magick

Now that we know what a servitor is, we need to find out how to create them.

We actually create thought forms on a daily basis. Well, maybe not on a daily basis but more than we may think on a subconscious level, without actually consciously going about the act of creating one.

To consciously create a thought form or a servitor is a lot different and it has a more direct intent to it.

But let’s get straight into the actual creation. This will be a more general discussion, and I will discuss some of the aspects more indepth over the coming weeks.

The first step you want to take is to create a sigil and a name.

Therefore you start with sigil magick, which I have spoken about previously.

Once you’ve gotten to that point where you have broken down your will sentence into a few consonants, you then created your sigil or glyph, it is that glyph that becomes the sigil of the servitor.

You can go back to your collection of letters and create the name of the servitor. However, because you took out the vowels, you will need to put some back in so that you have a phonetic name.

Let’s say you have the letters M, P, R and N. Just trying to say that group of letters can be a little difficult and will not sound very good. If we add vowels then we may come up with MoPRuN, MopRuNe or maybe MaPRuNe for instance.

You can get creative here, just do whatever you want with the letters, even jumble them up to create something completely different such as RPMN instead of MPRN and then add vowels back into it and you might have RaPMaN, which would be great for a musical servitor.

This really is as simple as taking those letters and creating some kind of sound that creates the name for your servitor.

Now, you have a name, and you have a sigil.

That’s step one. Step two is the actual creation process.

The creation process in its basic format is one whereby you generate a lot of energy which gets directed into the sigil.

I’m going to mix a bit of the Kabbalistic approach that I learned into this as well.

With the Kabbalistic approach, when you’re actually creating the servitor, the thought form, the artificial elemental, whatever you want to call it, you build up the energy and then project it to a point. With each projection it creates a ball of energy and that energy can be whatever colour corresponds to your intent. For example if it’s money related, you can use green, if it’s romantically related, you might make it pink,  whereas if it’s about passion and sex, you can make it red.

If it’s about purification or protection you could probably use white, but you can also use black here, if you view that as protective. Black could be seen as the colour of earth, and earth creates a strong  barrier of protection.

Use colour correspondences that you feel would work for your purpose and how you feel about the colours.

Each time you project the energy onto the actual sigil, you therefore create this ball of energy and it keeps building and growing bigger.

There are a lot of different ways that you can create or generate the energy that you actually project onto the sigil for the creation process, but one of the most commonly used is sex magick and orgasm. This generates a lot of energy, very quickly, and it can be very intense.

Sex magick can be done solo, as a couple, or in a group. Just be sure that if you’re going to be doing this in a group setting or as a couple, that you trust every person involved.

Trust is a huge thing, it has to be. If you don’t trust somebody in a situation like this then you will find yourself in a very bad situation, so make sure you can trust everybody.

When it comes to sex magick and the creation of servitors, it is not just about the energy expended during orgasm. In this instance it is also about the sexual fluids, which are representative of the creation of life, whereas blood is representative of sustaining life.

This is the reason you may want to use sex for the creation of a servitor, because you’re going to want to put sexual fluids on the sigil which creates the life, but also orgasm to generate the energy which you then project onto the sigil to develop the “body” of servitor.

If you don’t want to use sex that’s fine. There’s a lot of other methods you can use.

You can use drumming for instance, or you can use dance. You could also use spinning to generate that energy. I wouldn’t use it myself because I know I’ll get dizzy and fall over, but that’s just me.

You can use basic meditation, breath work and visualisation as well. As you breathe in, you pull in the energy from all around you and form it into a ball of energy within you. That ball gets pushed out of your arms, out of your hands and into the object.

It’s basically building up energy and redirecting it, but if you are going to be creating servitors, you are probably at a stage in your magical practice where you already have a method that you use to generate and build energy, so I’m not going to go too much into that, as I say, there are lots of methods you can use.

Now, because I mentioned the creation of the name earlier, it would be a great idea to also use the name as a mantra whilst you are building up this energy. Chanting the mantra over and over again is fantastic for creating trance.

Once you have created your ball of energy, you will then need to program it. This is where you speak to it, give it its name and its purpose or its task.

If it has a lifespan, you program that in also. For some servitors you will only want it to complete a single task, and once complete, it will end. For others, you will need them to continue indefinitely, maybe the same lifespan as yourself so when you die, it dies, or when you find you no longer require its services, you can then end it. In this instance, the servitor will dissolve and return back to the source that it was created from. That would be the magician’s personal power if it was created from that, an Element, or whatever energy source was used during its creation.

Some people will perform the creation process once, therefore in one sitting, whereas others will take a week to create the servitor, sort of like a gestation period. If you are wanting to create your servitor over a week, then simply repeat the process every day. This can be really good to build the energy of the servitor. Each day you add a little more so it grows bigger and bigger.

By about the third or fourth day, you will actually start feeling the energy of the servitor. You may even feel a personality developing. After that week you can then sustain and feed it. Keeping your servitor fed is very important. If you don’t then it will simply dissolve and die.

Feeding can be done every week for the first month and then once a month after that, depending on the source that your servitor is feeding from. You may have created one that is feeding from a source external to you, such as absorbing negative energy for you.

The basic manner in which to feed your servitor is to simply give it more of the energy you used in order to create it, although you can use a drop of blood as blood sustains life. So if used sexual energy and sexual fluids in the creation, that being sex to create life, you can sustain that life by feeding it bloody afterwards.

If you are feeding it with other energy such as the Elements or other source, you can also use the mantra to generate that energy, bringing the chanting into a frenzy. As always, get creative.

Of course, how often you feed it depends on the purpose of the servitor and how often it is being used. If you are using the servitor a lot, you might want to feed it more often because it needs the energy to actually go out and do its work. Just like we need to feed to get energy, so does the servitor.

You may also want to consider housing your servitor, especially if it needs somewhere to rest between its work, or if you want to call it back to feed it for instance. This can be in the form of a statue, a box, a crystal ball, a rock, a piece of jewelry, the list is endless. However, make it something pleasant for you. If you choose an object that you don’t like, you are probably not going to connect with your servitor, because the servitor is going to be housed within the object.

Once you have the object which will house the servitor, just speak to your servitor and invite it into the object. If it doesn’t like the object then choose a different object until you find one that you both like.

The house can also double up as the feeding area. Put energy into the house and when it does come back to rest, it can feed on the energy that you have stored there.

With some servitors, again it depends on the purpose, you can create a permanent house. You would tie the servitor to the object. For instance if it’s for protection around your property you can take a stone or a rock, even a tree. The object would then become the permanent house of the servitor. If it is a rock then you would place the rock on your property, and when it needs to do any kind of protection it can come out and do whatever it needs to do.

There’s lots of reasons why you would need an object or housing for the servitor and lots of reasons why you may not need one.

The last thing I want to discuss about servitors is the death of a servitor.

If you are creating a servitor that you want for a long period of time, maybe the rest of your life, it could be a protection servitor for instance, that you want to keep around forever, you can program it to die when you die.

If it’s the kind of servitor that only needs to do a particular task for a period of a year or a month or whatever it may be, you can program it to die after that period.

When I say die there are two methods of either dissipation or absorption.

Dissipation is where the energy just dissipates and it becomes nothing. This will happen if you don’t feed your servitor, unless it becomes slightly sentient and finds a different source of food rather than you.

As an example, if it’s the kind of servitor that is going out to influence people in whatever manner, it can actually latch onto those people and start feeding off their energy and that will prevent it from dying, but usually dissipation will happen if you don’t feed it, in which case it is going to dissipate and fizzle away into nothing.

The other method is absorption where you absorb it back into yourself.

If you’ve used your own personal power to create the servitor, then in the creation process you’ve projected that power out to a point. Absorption is simply the reverse of that. You absorb the energy of the servitor back into yourself.

In this case it becomes an extension of yourself, an extension of your personal powers, a bit like externalising an archetype of yourself; of your own mind; of your own being.

That’s it basically.

Give it a bash and see how it goes.

You don’t want to create too many servitors if you are creating them from and feeding them your own personal energy because you will need to sustain them. So if you have one servitor, that’s actually plenty. So make sure it is for something that you really really need.

If you have five or ten servitors, the amount of energy that you may need to expend could be astronomical, so you are going to end up giving all your energy away to ten servitors and you’re not going to have any left for yourself. Unless of course you are not using your own personal energy. As I mentioned we will discuss these things a little more indepth over the coming weeks.

What Are Servitors & Magical Thought Forms

Let’s talk about servitors or thought forms.

Today’s discussion will be about servitors or thought forms generally. What they are, what you can expect, etc.

Servitors are energetic thought forms that you, the magician or the witch, would create in order to go out and perform certain tasks for you.

What they can do for you is really limited to your imagination.

You can bring back information, you can bring back knowledge, you can spy on people, you can attract more customers and bring in more money, if you’re having problems with clients who aren’t paying then you can create a servitor for that purpose. You can create them for protection, you can create them for healing. The amount of things you can do with servitors is actually endless.  It all depends on your needs and your requirements and what you want to do with the servitor.

Now, there are a variety of different thought forms. The general one spoken about, that being the Servitor, is usually found within Chaos Magick.

In Kabbalistic practice it’s usually called an Artificial Elemental, and in this practice you generally only work with the Elements. In Kabbalah those Elements are usually Air, Fire and Water. In other traditions and paths you may use all four which would be Air, Fire, Water and Earth. There are some differences in variations between paths and practices themselves.

You also get egregores. In broad terms, an egregore could be likened to a God or Goddess. In many regards they are. If you look at the Christian God for instance, this God is an egregore.

In fact you may find that in a lot of cases, when working with a spirit, that spirit is quite often an egregore.

An egregore is very similar to a servitor, in that it is an energetic being that has been created by a magician or a witch, a person. That servitor was sent out to do a particular thing or perform a particular task and therefore, it has certain aspects tied to it. As an example a servitor that is created to bring in money would have aspects of wealth, prosperity and abundance, or a love related servitor would encompass such things as love, sex, desire, lust, romance.

As that servitor grows, it becomes stronger. If it is then used by multiple people, it is then fed more energy and grows exponentially. It is this group energy that causes the servitor to grow even more, and it can gain sentience and it is then that the servitor becomes an egregore. This means that it will feed off the group, and the group can tap into its energy to achieve their goals for those aspects that egregore is assigned to. The bigger the group, the more powerful it becomes and then the magick becomes easier.

You can imagine an egregore as a cloud that hovers over a group of people. As the people in the group feed it more energy, it grows bigger. As the group grows, so does the cloud, and those people can tap into the knowledge and power that the cloud or egregore holds.

There is always a give and take. You can take the information, knowledge and power, but you also have to give back energy which allows the egregore to grow and also survive.

Now, I’m not saying that all Gods and Goddesses are egregores. You do have the original energies, the original powers, but in a lot of cases those original powers may have been introduced into a certain society which has changed them into something different.

As an example, let’s say a deity is introduced into a small village. The people in that village start worshipping that deity and over time, over generations, over centuries, you might find that the intention gets morphed a bit. Then, from the original energy that was the God or Goddess, it’s become something a little bit different and that can become an egregore. I do however believe that even when we morph the energy of a deity into an egregore which is not that deity specifically, more kind of like a carbon copy that has been altered slightly, it still connects to that original energy that was and is the deity.

Now, if you are working with the original energy of the deity or an egregore doesn’t actually matter. You will still get the results you require, and that is what counts. In fact it is probably easier to work with the egregore as the energy isn’t as strong, which can quite often knock you off your feet.

I do want to have a look at the group mind briefly, as it is a very very powerful thing and is sometimes called the mob mind.

Imagine a situation where there’s a large group of people in one area. One person all of a sudden has a gripe with somebody else and that person starts screaming and shouting. Then another person joins in because they have the same problem with this somebody. It may not be a somebody, it may be a political issue, but whatever it is, more and more people who share the same viewpoint start to rally together and the group starts to grow. The energy starts moving from that one person towards all the other people, and all of a sudden you’ve got this mass of people that are all connected to a group mind or a mob mind. This is not exactly like an egregore, but if you were to actually see the energy you’d probably find that cloud forms over the top of this group or mob. However, once that group then disperses and people start disconnecting from that energy of the group mind then things start to calm down and everything goes back to normal. Quite often some of the people that were part of that mob mind will wonder why they got involved to begin with. They simply get taken up by the passing energy and get hooked into it.

So, it is very similar to what we’re talking about with an egregore, however a mob mind is short lived, whereas an egregore will have a much longer lifespan, often over centuries.

The egregore is a very interesting topic but it’s not quite what we are going to talk about today.

I’m going to be focusing specifically on servitors which can help you with your life. As I said, you can do anything with them, whether it be bringing in money, bringing in love, finding sex, helping your spiritual journey, bringing in more knowledge, protection. It can be many, many, many things, whatever you actually need and desire.

So, a servitor is an energetic being that you create to go out and perform a task, whatever you need.

A lot of people will say that you are to command the servitor. In terms of this we have to look into any kind of spiritual or magical work where we are working with entities, whether it’s an energetic being that you are creating or if it’s an angel or a demon, but specifically in the area of demons where you get the evocation workings in regards to the Goetia and the other Solomonic Grimoires that were written a couple or a few centuries ago.

The problem is that those Grimoires were based very much on Christian concepts and within Ceremonial Magick. You will find that you are instructed to command, trap, bind and threaten the Spirits. However, if you do that, the Spirits aren’t going to be very kind to you if they get loose, just like a person would retaliate if you did the same thing to them. When someone has learned these methods, they tend to often allow that behaviour to spill over into their servitor workings.

In many ways such a person may develop a bit of a “god complex”. Because of that they feel like they are supposed to command the servitor, but this work is like creating a child and this child needs you. You have created a baby which came from you. This child is not something that you just get to push around and beat on whenever you feel like it because you are its “Master”. You’ve made this entity, this energetic being. You’ve created it, and it becomes your child. You’ve got to view it the same way.

In Abarat by Clive Barker, there is actually a scenario where one of the characters has created an entity to do it’s work around the house.  However, this character beats it up, pushes it around, and puts it into a cage when it’s not working, generally treats it like an animal, worse than an animal, you shouldn’t even treat animals like that. Eventually it get’s a foothold and it gets out of the cage, and because of all the pain it has been put through, it retaliates and it destroys the person, the owner, the “master”. Even if you look into BDSM where you have a Master/slave relationship, the Master isn’t there to unnecessarily abuse the slave.

The Master will encourage and care for, help to bring out aspects in the slave that the slave is too scared to actually bring out themselves. In the case of the servitor, this is your baby, this is your creation. You’ve got to treat it the way that you would if it was a physical being.

Anyhow, I just want you to keep that in mind because I remember in the past I saw a lot of books written about servitors and commanding and binding and caging and I don’t know how people can do that, but anyway.

We should also talk about the artificial anthropoid.

You may have heard of the golem. Not however Golem from Lord of the Rings.

A golem is mostly found in the Kabbalistic Hebrew texts that has a physical body that has been given life, usually created for protection, by a Rabbi.

Probably the most famous of these is the Golem of Prague. Fascinating story.

But the golem has a physical body, usually made of clay, that the Rabbi would perform certain rituals upon which then brings the clay body to life. There is a particular Hebrew text written on its forehead which means life, and when you wipe one letter out, it changes the word to death and the golem then dies.

So, that’s just a brief look at the servitor which ties in nicely with Chaos Magick, but also with sigil magick which I spoke about previously. With the servitor you create a sigil, and from that sigil you then create a name and even a chant that can be used when creating the servitor.

Following this I will discuss how to create a servitor from the Chaos Magick perspective and then following that, an Artificial Elemental from the Kabbalistic point of view.

The servitor is a very broad topic, so if you have any questions over the course of this discussion over the next few weeks, please leave a comment below in the blog post, or a voice message on Anchor if you are listening to the podcast.

Power Up Your Sigil Magick With a Robofish incl. Progressive and Possession Sigils

So far we have discussed how to create sigils, how to activate them, and sigil shoaling. To compliment sigil shoaling, let’s now talk about the robofish.

If you are a bit adverse to fish, very sorry about that but this all comes from Gordon White, so you can blame him.

The concept of the robofish came from a study that was done in 2010 at the University of Leeds wherein a robotic fish was placed with a shoal. They wanted to see how the robotic fish would influence them. As the robotic fish made very abrupt, decisive movements, the shoal would follow it. We could say that the robotic fish became the alpha of the pack. The same thing happens with most group or communal animals, even humans.

The reason this becomes so significant to sigil magic and specifically to sigil shoaling is that the robofish becomes the alpha of the pack and directs all of the other sigils.

Now, in regards to shoaling and the robofish, we mentioned previously that we would take our large, broad objective and split it into smaller goals, making those goals more defined in order to reach the larger objective. Because these sigils are shoaling together, they gather more and more energy.

The reason the robofish becomes so important here is because it is a fixed, determined point. The robofish is something that is inevitable. No matter what happens, the sigil and intent behind the robofish is one that will happen regardless. This makes the robofish immediately successful.

As we saw with the experiment at the University of Leeds, the shoal of fish are inclined to follow the robotic fish, so in shoaling sigils, you create a robofish which is already successful, therefore all of the other sigils in the shoal will follow the success of the robofish.

So for your robofish, think of something that is inevitable. Do you have a daily habit that you do without fail? You can even make it something like I brushed my teeth today. I eat two boiled eggs and toast every morning, so I can make my roboish about that.

Then, throw your robofish in with the shoal and watch them all manifest one by one. It’s simple, it’s easy and it’s also logical.

I just want to wrap up this whole sigil series with progressive and possession sigils, and I’m putting them together because they’re both pretty quick explanations.

I came across these two sigil working concepts in the book Chaonomicon by Jack D. Hawkins.

Unlike your normal sigil working where you can create and launch a sigil within a few minutes, these are sigil workings that you do over a period of time.

You would start off the same as before. Think of your desire, create your Will sentence, design and draw you sigil from the letters or whatever method you have chosen to use. Then, from your jumble of letters that you are left with after removing the vowels and repeated consonants, you can then create a mantra. Take those letters and start to speak them, adding vowels back in so that you end up with an audible and phonetic sound which becomes your mantra. Make sure the mantra flows because you will be repeating it over and over again to use in order to enter an ecstatic state.

Then you would decide on a period of time. This could be done over a three day period because three represents manifestation, or for seven days so that you complete a round of all seven planets. It could be half a lunar month, so you could develop the sigil from the new moon to the first quarter and then do the magick itself from the first quarter to the full moon.

Then, for that period of time, you work with the sigil on a daily basis. For this you can do half an hour meditation as an example. Do this every day and at the same time every day so that you create a pattern.

What you are going to do over that period of time is charge the sigil, and then on the last day you launch it, and it is when you launch it that you use the ecstatic state.

All you’re doing during that period is putting energy into the working itself, into the desire, into the outcome that you want. You can use visualisation for this if you want to, visualizing the outcome as being done. In other words, whatever you want to bring into your life, it’s already in your life, make it present tense.

Then on the last day you go into an ecstatic state or a state of exhaustion, and you launch the sigil. After that can take the sigil down and destroy it.

Now, with the possession sigil, this works best for something that you want to improve with yourself or for improvement in your health, something that can be internalized. I think it goes without saying that if you have health or mental issues, make sure you consult a doctor before doing any of this work, especially with some of the methods of trance induction.

So, maybe you want to become wiser, maybe you want to become a better writer, maybe you want to just improve your health generally, maybe you do have an ailment that you want to actually cure. It’s all about improving or benefiting yourself and your physical being, your mental being, your spiritual being, your emotional being.

What you would do is create your sigil and then draw that onto a large piece of paper or a board, large enough to be able to stand on it. Put that on the floor.

To begin, you stand outside or away from the board. Then you are going to imagine a circle around the sigil. If it makes it easier, draw a circle on the board around your sigil. From that circle you are going to imagine a column of light. Whilst you build up this column of light you can chant your mantra which you created from the Will sentence, using it to create an ecstatic state or bring yourself to a point of exhaustion. Direct all of the energy into the column of light and let it build, grow and pulsate with power, stretching down into the earth and up into the heavens. This column of light becomes pure energy that is imbued with your desire.

When you feel you are ready and you have built up enough energy, then step into the column onto the sigil and let the energy, which if you remember is imbued with the intent and desire, possess you. Let all of that energy fill every cell of your body.

Very effective and definitely worth giving it a shot.

If you try any of the methods mentioned throughout this series, or any methods that haven’t been discussed, I would love to hear from you regarding your experiences. If you go to anchor.fm/leewjohnson then you can leave me a voice message, or if you are reading this on my blog, leave a comment.

Sigil Shoaling and Goal Mapping

Last time we spoke about sigils and the no 1 reason your sigil work may have gone awry.

Today I want to actually talk about sigil shoaling, and what it really has to do with fish.

Sigil shoaling was created by Gordon White. Check out his blog runesoup.com if you haven’t already. Excellent blog and he also has a great podcast.

Sigil shoaling is basically a gathering of sigils in order to reach the main objective.

When we think of a group of fish, we usually refer to a “school of fish” as opposed to a “shoal of fish”, however, there is a difference between shoaling and schooling. When they’re shoaling they are gathered socially in the same spot, and it’s usually quite a large group. When they are schooling, they are all swimming in one direction and going to a destination.

Taking this into consideration, the basic principle is that you create a number of sigils for the directive of the bigger intent or larger intent, and you throw them all in. You then shoal your sigils. A term that Gordon White actually likes to use is “increasing the chaos”.

Imagine a group of fish that is shoaling. If you view it from the outside, from quite a distance, it looks quite chaotic, so they build up this chaos and then all of a sudden, they will start swimming in one direction to their destination.

So what we are going for here with the sigils is this increase in the chaos, building the energy up and then allowing it to explode so that they all move in one direction toward your larger intent, your objective, your target. That’s the main principle and it works pretty darn well.

In the last discourse I mentioned that your intent can’t be too broad, such as I want money, I want sex, I want love, I want lots and lots of marshmallows, okay marshmallows are quite specific, unless of course you want a specific colour of marshmallow. But if it’s something very broad then it’s very difficult to know how it’s going to actually manifest, because you haven’t set a proper specific intent.

So if you just throw it out there, then the subconscious, universe, whatever we want to call it, will go ok, well here it is. However, it then comes through a path that simply doesn’t align with what you had in mind.

Regarding this, someone previously asked, “Is it possible to write a larger sentence or even a paragraph, including directives you desire your spell to follow, such as specific conditions and dates?” and also went on to say, “…if broken up into chunks and sigilised, is this shoaling?”

Concerning the first part, it would be a bit difficult to write a long paragraph and then create a sigil from it because, as you know, when creating the will sentence, you break it down into consonants, into letters and then from those letters you then create your sigil. But if you’ve got a very long paragraph you’re going to end up with probably all the letters of the alphabet.

What you can do in this instance however (just to get a little off topic) is to use it as a prayer paper in conjunction with candle magick. A nice method to use in relation to this is to put a candle inside a jar, put herbs in just to boost the energy, and then write an entire page, with exactly what you want and with all of your directives, dates, everything and very specific. Then fold up that entire page and put it inside the jar. You can wrap it around the inside, but wrapped around in such a fashion that you can still burn the candle in the middle. Then you will take a small candle, put it inside and burn it down, seal it with a lid, and then store it somewhere, or bury it depending on what the actual intent is.

But when it comes to sigil magick what you could actually do is write an entire page or paragraph, whatever it may be, a bit like externalizing your intent, get it out of your head and into a solid form which is onto a piece of paper and into words. From there you can create an image that symbolizes your entire intent. If you are an artist, this would be a great deal easier. You can take that entire written piece and create an artwork out of it. There are no hard and fast rules to this. If it works for you through experimentation, then use it.

Concerning the second part, can you break it up into parts?

Yes you can. If you took that paragraph and broke it into chunks that you can actually make into sigils, then you can put them all together, throw them all in the pot, and do sigil shoaling.

So that is definitely an option.

The other thing I wanted to mention has to do with actually creating your goals.

I battle greatly with this myself.

You know, people ask, “What do you want?” I don’t know what I want half the time. I may say that I want lots of money, but I don’t want lots of money.

If I have enough to pay the bills and be comfortable, buy a book every month and things like that, then I don’t need lots of money, I only need enough money.

People may say they want a new girlfriend or new boyfriend or a new spouse. I’m single and enjoying it, I don’t need any of that.

Maybe, to go on holiday, yeah sure, I want to go on holiday, but it’s really not that important.

I enjoy my life, but the one thing I do require is a constant income every month, a constant base income.

Ok, so I could consider it from that point of view, that I need or I require this base income.

It is difficult to get to that point if you are listening to everybody else and I think this was my problem. If you are having the same problem, you might find the solution the same way. Break it down and be honest with yourself.

When you are watching all these videos on YouTube about people manifesting things, people filming from Bali or doing this or that, and they have this fantastic life. They probably don’t, but they portray themselves to have this fantastic life, and they portray themselves as extremely happy and it makes you want that as well.

It creates resentment.

You might not want to actually admit that but it can create a bit of resentment, because this person has this life and it’s a life that you want. They’ve got it and they got it so easy, but you have been struggling for so long, why haven’t you got it?

This can make it very difficult to figure out what you want because you are clouded.

You know what you want, but you can’t put it into a specific thing.

So, forget about all of those people, they really don’t matter to you.

Their life is different, you have walked your own path through life and your experience in life is completely different to everybody else’s.

So, forget about me, forget about everybody else, it doesn’t matter. What matters is you.

And really think about it and if it does help to write it down, then write it down.

If it’s total nonsense, then it’s total nonsense. It doesn’t matter.

Through that nonsense you are going to find some order.

Just start trying to pinpoint what it is that you need. Taking my example again, my biggest is a basic income that is regular every month. Instead of it going up one month and down the next, just allowing me to survive, just to have a regular base income every month, and then anything extra is a bonus.

I don’t want to be rich, but if I say I want to be rich, that will solve the problems won’t it? But it’s not what I really want. I don’t want to be famous, but again, that will solve my problem because I will have a large income, but again, I don’t want that. What I do want is just that base income, and then I can save everything extra and go on holiday.

What I am trying to demonstrate here is that if you ask for things that you don’t really want, you are going to end up fighting against yourself, and you won’t be able to manifest anything. Your brain will start to ask why. Why do you want to be rich? Why do you want to be famous? It knows you don’t want those things, so it will push back. This creates doubt.

You need to become mindful of what you actually want, how you feel about things, how you feel about money.

If you don’t like money, you are going to reject it. That may sound strange, who doesn’t like money? But a lot of people will complain about money. As it comes in, it goes out; I hate money; money is evil, etc. etc. If you have said these things then you are creating a hatred for money. So you have to love money first of all, but if you don’t really need to be rich and it wouldn’t actually make you feel comfortable and happy, because it wouldn’t, then you’re going to start doubting.

Those doubts are going to come in and therefore it’s not going to manifest in any meaningful way.

So get down to what it is you really, really want.

Once you have gotten to that point, what’s next. Continuing with my own example, how do I make that income?

Web development has been my main business for many years, but what do I really want to be doing? I want to be teaching magick, healing people, writing books, and helping people by providing services for them. That’s what I really want to do, but that side of my business life needs to develop more, so I need to continue getting my main income through web development for a period of time, and at the same time, building my personal brand.

However, to develop my personal brand I need to make it the primary focus, otherwise I will be stuck in web development and the thought that that needs to take the primary lead, so a mind shift needs to take place. One by which I shift from thinking of web development as my main source of income, to my personal brand being that. Whatever comes from web development is then a bonus.

Now I have a more defined goal, some direction. Now I need to break that up into smaller bits which will determine how I will get there, what I use to make that reality manifest. So how do we do that? Because to create a sigil just for the above mentioned goal would be too broad.

I need to do marketing to create new clients.

I need to create synchronised moments where people find me during the time that they specifically need what I’m providing.

I need to create a loyal audience and the audience I have created thus far is incredible, they are my community.

Okay, there’s three already, there’s a few other things I could come up with.

Be more present on Facebook and Instagram, which I haven’t been, in order to grow audiences there as well.

So, there are four things. I can now create a sigil for each one of these, and then throw them all into the pot.

What you can also do is throw in completely and utterly random things. I want to have better health, I want to cure cancer, whatever, throw that in with everything else and that will add to the chaos, which increases the chaos and it builds up the energy more and more.

Then, as soon as one of the sigils starts to manifest, it creates more energy for the others to start manifesting, and you cause a chain reaction.

You can think of it like a spinning wheel with all your sigils attached. It spins faster and faster until all of a sudden one flies off and starts to manifest.

As it manifests, it bounces back and brings the energy in, adding to the chaos. Then the next one flies off, goes and manifests, comes back and builds up more energy, and on and on.

That’s the way I have come to understand and see sigil shoaling.

To take this even further, you can break down your smaller goals even further. Earlier I mentioned four things that I can do to get more business and build my personal brand. Take each of those and break those down, treating them as goals to get to, which then all comes together to reach the main objective.

As always, get creative and don’t limit yourself.

Hopefully you now understand sigil shoaling a bit better, and I hope this also helped anyone who is battling with their goals to actually create, understand and define those goals.

How to Forget Your Sigil & The #1 Reason It Didn’t Work

So you’ve created a sigil and you have activated it, but what do you do with it now?

This has become a bit of a contention, especially with new people to Chaos Magic and sigil magick.

And it’s something that definitely requires a bit more explanation regarding how everything works and how it all happens.

So this is probably going to be the most important video of the whole sigil magick series that I will create here.

The usual instructions are to destroy the sigil and forget about it. A lot of people find this very confusing and difficult to do, because how do you forget the sigil?

There is one method where you can actually create a bunch of sigils, put them away for a couple of weeks and keep going back to them and checking to see if you actually remember what the sigil represented.  When you don’t remember the representation of the desire, then you activate it, and you just keep going through the sigils and can you keep adding to them.

That works pretty well, in most cases it becomes quite easy to forget, but for a lot of people it’s not so easy. You could go week after week and you can still remember what the sigil actually represented. This is why it requires a bit more understanding of what we mean by forget.

I’m going to explain this quite briefly here, attempting to put it into the simplest terms possible.

We are going to imagine the conscious mind is in the front of the head, and the subconscious mind is behind.

For the average person on the street who does not practice magic, they tend to go through their everyday, mundane life. Whenever we encounter something, which happens at every nanosecond of the day by the way, all of that information is inputted, and goes through filters which sensor out a lot of the data.

In Chaos Magick, these filters are often referred to as the psychic sensor, but it is a filter in general terms, because when we consider the sheer amount of data, the thousands upon thousands of stimuli that actually hit us every second of every day, if we didn’t filter them out we would probably end up going completely insane. However, once all of that data and stimuli from everyday life has passed into the subconscious, it all gets stored.

You can actually test this by asking two people who have experienced the same accident to describe it. The result is going to be that you get two slightly different versions.

With sigil magick, we use an ecstatic state to bypass this filter, or psychic sensor. This ecstatic state is the gnostic, trance or liminal state that I have previously spoken about. This state, being liminal, means that it is a betwixt, or between state. You are between conscious and unconscious, this world and the other world, etc etc. It’s a Crossroads. It is at this Crossroads that the psychic sensor is bypassed so that the data from the sigil work can be passed directly into the unconscious or subconscious mind without being filtered in any way (some people separate the subconscious and unconscious in these models, but I am trying to keep this as simple as possible).

Peter J. Carroll suggests that the psychic sensor is the Holy Guardian Angel (or in his terms the Augoeides), and Aleister Crowley said that we cannot access the unconscious directly until we have attained Knowledge and Conversation with the Holy Guardian Angel.

So, once that desire, sigil, glyph, etc. has bypassed the psychic sensor, that being the Holy Guardian Angel, and implanted itself in the unconscious mind, it can then go to work, making the desire manifest. It will literally alter everything in order to make that thing a reality because it has been added to the reality that must be. The difficulty is the conscious mind and therefore the need we have to forget about the sigil and the work done.

Like a little imp, it will start creeping back into the conscious mind and you kind of see it out of the corner of your eye and then instead of engaging with it you have to push it back and just forget about it. This is where meditation comes in very very useful and it’s why meditation training is always considered an essential foundation to becoming a magician, sorcerer, wizard, witch, whatever it may be, whatever your aim is, whatever your goal is.

Through meditation we learn how to become mindful. We also learn how to quiet the mind and as the train of thoughts starts to arise, we can just gently push that train of thought away and just come back to our focus and our concentration.

It’s the same thing with the sigil working. It’s this little desire that comes creeping around and you see it, then you push it back again.

Stephen Mace in Stealing the Fire from Heaven, page 21 to be exact, (in case you want to ge the book) actually explains it really well. Mace says:

“To work Spare’s technique, the sorcerer does not use ritual to call up the power he needs to accomplish his desire. Instead he obtains his desire by stifling the thought of it. He does not permit himself to consider it, and if it should sneak into his thought-stream, he suppresses it as soon as he notices its presence.

“Spare called this deliberate repression ‘making the desire organic’. When we dwell on a desire in our conscious mind, we involve ourselves in rational attempts to satisfy it, attempts that bind our energy into structured schemes that defy the fluid essence of power. We waste our energy weaving dreams–tapestries of method and motivation, expectation and fear of failure—veils that keep us from seeing ourselves as nodes of power linked directly to Infinity. But when we repress our desires, they shrink away from consciousness to turn in on themselves–becoming discrete entities–and if we can pour enough energy into them (even as we keep the thought of them out of our waking minds), they will sink down into the wellsprings of Fate, where the energy will be able to adjust Fate’s flow according to our wills.”

I think that explains it perfectly.

Ok, so now I think you have a better understanding of the process and what actually needs to happen in order to get this to work.

But it still brings up the question of, what do you actually do with a sigil?

You can destroy it, and there are a lot of different ways you can actually do this, but again, it’s about experimentation, about finding the thing that actually works for you. Most people suggest burning it, however you can also keep it.

One of the manifestation techniques that you may be familiar with is the vision board. With this method, you put images on the board, you then put it up somewhere so that you can see it on a daily basis, such as in your bedroom. When you get up in the morning, you will then look at the vision board as you pass it, and then you go do whatever you do during the day. When you go back to bed at night, you look at the vision board again as you pass by, and that is how the vision board basically works.

It’s that constant reinforcement of your desires to the unconscious mind, and you don’t need to stand in front of it and focus on the vision board. It’s simply the act of passing by and just letting the subconscious see it. You can do exactly the same thing with the sigils.

Now, once you’ve activated the sigils, you can also do a banishing. Not everyone does, but it’s a great practice and can help you to forget the Working that was just done. It clears the space so to speak. Quite often with Chaos Magick we banish with laughter. Just start belly laughing, you’ll soon forget everything.

After that, you go about your mundane things. Just your normal everyday things to try and push the desire into unconscious, and not bring it back to the conscious. So just make a cup of coffee, go have a smoke, I don’t know, whatever you like to do. Have a cookie. Do other things to stop thinking about the sigil. It’s sometimes like someone saying don’t think of a pink elephant and you think of a pink elephant, but with more time and training you will find that you don’t think of a pink elephant anymore.

Once you’ve done all that then take the sigil and put it on a wall. Continue doing that with your sigils and build a collection, creating a nice decorative wall of images. When you pass by, you then view it and the subconscious just takes it all in again, but make sure you don’t stand there and think to yourself, what was that one again, because then it’s going to start bringing it into the conscious mind and you are going to battle to actually push it back again.

Another way that you can actually do sigil magick, from beginning to end is put them up where you can actually view them and let them become boring. Over time they just become normal, it becomes part of the scenery and you then forget about them, you really can’t be bothered by it.

It’s like having a sticky note on a board and you keep looking at the sticky note, which is probably a motivational phrase, and eventually one day it just becomes so normal and boring that you don’t even pay attention to it.

Once sigils on the wall become completely and utterly irrelevant, then you can take them down and burn them.

So, as I say again it’s all about experimentation and finding what works for you, because that is what magick really is. Simple as that.

Why It Didn’t Work

So, you’ve created a sigil and done your magick, but you got the total opposite result of what you were wanting.

What went wrong?

Why didn’t the sigil work, or did it?

Let’s have a look at the no 1 reason why sigil magick doesn’t work.

When it comes to sigil magick we find that a lot of people create the sigil, do all the work as prescribed, but then the opposite of what your desire was starts happening.

Some time back I actually replied to somebody on a sub reddit about this.

They were saying that they created the sigil in order to bring true happiness. But the next day everything just went wrong. There were accidents, they kept losing things, everything just went haywire during the day. Whatever they tried to achieve just failed. It was a complete mess.

Instead of true happiness as per their request, they got anger, frustration, and annoyance, but definitely not happiness from all these events that were happening.

They wanted to know what they did wrong, why the sigil didn’t work.

Everybody came with the usual replies, you know, this, that the other and don’t lust after results, etc. etc.

But it got me thinking; they asked for true happiness.

What is true happiness?

In my mind, true happiness means that no matter what happens in your life, or what life throws at you, you’ll still be happy.

That’s what true happiness is, right?

My reply therefore, was as follows, you asked for true happiness, so your subconscious is probably trying to teach you how to get true happiness, or trying to teach you that it doesn’t matter what happens in your life, all the bad things, all the good things, true happiness is not affected by any of that. No matter what happens, you are still going to be truly happy.

If you think about it, when we do magick, or manifestation work and sigil work, we send it out there and we have this idea of what we want in our head, but our subconscious is a bit of a nasty beast sometimes, and what you might end up getting is not exactly what you imagined and this is because quite often people aren’t specific enough with what they want.

I have come across some people who teach sigil magick who say that with sigil magick specifically you don’t need to be as specific with your intent as other forms or techniques.

To some degree I agree, but I think it depends on what you need, and this is why sigil shoaling becomes quite important. With shoaling you’re actually narrowing down the path in order to get to that ultimate goal, but shoaling will be discussed in the next discourse.

So if you want happiness in your life, you first need to examine what you think happiness is. A good area of examination for this particular topic is Buddhism, which talks about the whole idea of freeing yourself from or overcoming Samsara, this natural world of pain and suffering.

We go through pain and suffering every moment of every day and we seek happiness. What we usually do is we find something that makes us happy. Problem is that that happiness is only temporary.  You might get a new car for example. A car that you’ve been wanting for years and years. It’s just the perfect car, it’s a Ferrari or a Porsche or whatever a dream car is to you. Now you are as happy as a pig in shit. But a month later it starts getting more normal. A month after that you are used to it and it doesn’t really make you that happy anymore. So it’s all just temporary happiness, therefore if you are going to ask for something like true happiness, then it’s not going to come from anything or anyone. It’s going to come from yourself and from freeing yourself from all of that pain and suffering to begin with.

That’s not going to happen overnight obviously, but you have to think about these things before you actually make the sigil because if you don’t, then what you think is happiness, might not be what your subconscious thinks and understands and realises.

This is why I think that with sigil magick you need to get very specific and you need to really think about what you are putting out there in order to get back.

I mean, the usual typical example of this kind of thing is if you want money to go on a vacation. You do your sigil magick and you say, “I want money to go on a vacation”, and then Aunt Mary dies. I don’t actually think I’ve got an Aunt Mary, but she does seem to pop up in a lot of discussions.

So, Aunt Mary dies and she leaves you this huge inheritance and it’s the exact amount of money, okay maybe not huge, but she leaves you an inheritance and that is the exact amount of money you need in order to go on the vacation.

But you didn’t want old Aunt Mary to die in the first place because you love Aunt Mary, everybody loves Aunt Mary. I sincerely hope you don’t have an Aunt Mary who is not a nice person. But we like Aunt Mary here.

Back to the story. So you didn’t want Aunt Mary to die, obviously not because you like Aunt Mary, but you weren’t specific enough, you didn’t say where the money will come from or possible avenues in order to get the money. Ok, so you don’t want your Will sentence to be excessively long, but you can add it into the intent.

So your will sentence might say, “I want enough money to go on vacation”, but what you need to do before you actually create a sigil and charge sigil, is to consider everything, so when you actually do the charging, consciously you are thinking I don’t want it to come from Aunt Mary’s inheritance, I don’t want her to die, here are the possible ways in order to get it; through a side hustle; through a bonus at work; or if somebody owes you money, they pay it back, as long as it doesn’t harm them.

That is another example that used to come up in books and stuff years back. If you want an extra boost of money and someone owes you which is the same amount you’re needing, that they pay you back. The problem is, if the person is forced to pay you back which then puts them in a position where they can lose their house, their family, even their life, it’s not really something that you want, I guess some people might, but me personally, I wouldn’t want that for somebody.

Just think about the avenues in which you can bring into your life what you want, as long as it’s in a manner that suits your own ethics and morals, and be specific.

I guess it’s not really only just about being specific, you really do need to think about the ways in which it can manifest. So if you just put something out there and you don’t think about what avenues it will take in order to manifest, then it will just take whichever avenue it wants to and afterwards you might sit there thinking, the sigil did this, the sigil went wrong.

It wasn’t the sigil, it was user error.

You have to take responsibility for your magic. When you do magick, you are the only one responsible for the outcome, nobody else, nothing else, just you.

So, if you are not going to be responsible, or take responsibility for what happens, then don’t do it in the first place.

You can’t blame the sigil, you can’t blame the magick, you can’t blame anybody else, you’re the only one to blame.

If somebody dies; that’s on you. Harsh I know, but that’s the reality of it.

So think about it before you actually go and do the magic.

How to Launch a Sigil

Once you have created a sigil, you are going to want to activate or launch it, or whatever terminology you want to use.

There are a lot of different ways you can actually launch your sigil, so I just want to go over some obvious ones, and although there’s a lot of information out there about the obvious methods, there are some methods that are a little less spoken about.

Now the objective here is to transfer the glyph from the conscious mind to the subconscious mind as I have mentioned previously. The way to go about this is to enter into a trance state, and that trance state can be done using whatever method suits you, so it is really a case of experimenting with as many methods as you can think of and come across in order to find the ones that actually work for you. Depending on the actual type of sigil or the type of work you are doing or even just the mood you’re in at the time, the method you use can differ. Finding those different methods that work for you gives you a nice little arsenal for you to work with.

Some of the obvious methods would be things like spinning, whirling, dancing, drumming, clacking, chanting, and singing. There really are a lot of different ways. There is also spontaneous singing which is a method I really enjoy using. It requires you to go into a deep meditative state and then all you do is just start singing complete nonsense. This means letting whatever sounds and words come out of your mouth just come out. I like to use spontaneous singing to work with energy and just mould that energy, which definitely helps it to move and at the same time, brings you into a trance state.

I have mentioned the Death Posture in the past, but I’ve never really described it, and there’s a very good reason for that. If you suffer from physical health issues, you definitely want to stay away from this, and if you suffer from mental health issues, don’t even consider this, just run far away. It’s a very intense method and it does get very painful.

I did do a bit of research, just to refresh my memory on the actual method of the Death Posture, which then brought up a whole lot of other memories of methods I experimented with several years back. Those methods were the Hanged Man position, and I also remembered the Heron pose which was said to have been used by the Celts to enter into a mantic state.

Concerning the Death Posture itself, this was described by Austin Osman Spare, who first wrote about it in his Book of Pleasures. There are actually three methods mentioned in the book, but the one that everybody seems to pick is the second one, so I am going to describe that one. This is a very painful method, but is very effective. The best thing to do is to stand with your back against a wall, clasp your hands together and put them behind your back, making your arms rigid. Then you get on your tiptoes and also stretch your head upward, and stay in this position. Through this process and by holding this position, your body becomes completely tensed, and it does start to cause a deficiency of air, because your neck is stretched out and also because of the strain which is placed on the rest of your body, so expect your breathing to become laboured. Stand in that position for as long as you possibly can. It’s going to get extremely painful and because of the oxygen deficiency, you will probably feel a lot of tingling in your body and also light headedness, but eventually you go into an altered state of mind. At some point you will collapse on the floor, so make sure you have got something soft to land on. It’s at the point when you enter into the altered state of mind or consciousness, that you would activate the sigil, using visualization.

When you collapse on the floor you might feel a bit hysterical. This actually reminds me very much of the mantic practices and mantic states of the Celts and the Bards, when they would sit on the Faery Mounds overnight to gain inspiration or Awen. It is mentioned in the tales that sitting overnight, the Bard would either leave inspired, or would become completely and utterly insane. This is why I say, if you have mental health issues, don’t even try this method.

Another very simple method that I like to use, is one whereby you take a pencil, although a ballpoint pen can work better because it makes a bit more noise, and start to draw a circle around the sigil which is on a piece of paper. Then, just keep circling, and what you will find is that you start to pick up a rhythm from the sound of the pen or pencil on the paper, which is usually laying on a desk or some kind of hard surface. You simply continue to circle around and around and get into the created rhythm which is very much the same type of concept as drumming. What also happens is that as you draw the circle around the sigil, your hand blocks the sigil with every pass and then it comes back into view, which is a type of flashing, as the hand covers and reveals the sigil. This whole process puts you into a trance state with the rhythm of the circling and the flashing of the sigil. When you feel you are ready, you can simply tighten the circle into a spiral and as you get into the centre, with the pen or pencil spinning frantically, build up that energy and then dramatically lift the pen off the paper and thrust the sigil into the subconscious.

Speaking of flashing (which incidentally has nothing to do with genitals, for the most part anyway), there are a few different methods, but one way you can do this is to simply gaze at the sigil. With this method you may also want to look into a yogic practice called tratak. With tratak, you usually start off with a dot, although you can use a candle but I don’t recommend it because you can burn your retina if not done properly. However, you draw a dot which is a couple millimeters in diameter, onto a piece of paper, and put it on the wall so that it’s at eye level. Sit about a metre and a half away from it and simply stare at the dot without blinking for as long as you possibly can. The actual practice is to stare at the dot without blinking for about half an hour or even longer, but that takes a lot of practice, so try to do it for as long as you can. You can use the same principle with your sigil. So in that instance you would take your sigil and simply gaze at it. The reason I mention tratak is because you might find that as you gaze at the sigil, you blink, and as you blink the image keeps shifting slightly and you feel that you need to start all over each time. However, if you use this method of gazing without blinking, it helps with the sigil activation because you will find that after a while the image starts to pulsate, or the lines move. You may also experience the sigil completely disappearing, or the background being removed which enhances the sigil. The sigil almost comes to life, and that is the sigil activating.

What you can also do is use colour by transferring the coloured sigil onto a surface where you see the complimentary colour of the sigil. Put the sigil up against a white wall, or have a blank white piece of paper next to it. You would draw your sigil in a specific colour, green for instance, and then after gazing at it for a while you then move your focus to the blank paper or wall. You will then see the sigil in its complimentary colour, in this instance it would be red. Continue to gaze at the red sigil on the white surface until it completely fades away.

I also know of people who use neon paint and a strobe light. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this for anyone who suffers from epilepsy however. You can even use neon paint in conjunction with sex magic, especially if you use glow in the dark paint. If practicing sex magic with a partner or group of people, the sigil would be painted on the bodies of all participating. I would suggest drawing it on different places of the body so that at the point of orgasm, no matter what position you may find yourself in, you will still have a view of the sigil.

Using sex magic to activate the sigil can be somewhat difficult and does take practice, but its a great deal more enjoyable to become skilled at. It is at the point of orgasm that you want to bring the sigil into view and concentrate only on the sigil. This is why it can be very difficult because during orgasm we tend to only focus on the sensations and the sexual act itself. However, it is that one-pointed focus and the complete exclusion of any other thoughts that make it such a good method. It brings you into complete focus and places you in a liminal state, excellent for transferring the sigil to the subconscious.

Sex magic can also be practiced by yourself, so don’t think that just because you don’t have a partner to practice with, that you can’t do it. My suggestion here is to use edging. Whenever you get close to orgasm, slow down or stop and pull back, but let the energy move up your spine and through your body. This builds energy in the body but also makes the final orgasm more explosive, taking you completely out of the current space and time and making the activation so much better.

With the use of sex magic it should be mentioned that it is not the actual sexual fluid or even the energy that is created that activates the sigil, its the liminal state that is a result of the orgasm which is required. Although the energy can be used in particular ways to project magick when that is required, and the sexual fluids can be used to create elixirs, charge talismans, create servitors, and such things, in the case of sigil magick, it is the liminal state that is the goal.

As I have mentioned, there are a lot of different methods that can be used to get into that trance state required to transfer the sigil to the subconscious mind. The main thing is to get creative. Try as many methods as you can, and see which ones work for you under different circumstances and for different purposes. You may want to use sex magic for love related sigils and the circling method for money magic for instance. Just get creative, and there is no reason why you can’t combine different methods to reach your goal. As Austin Osman Spare himself said, “…everybody needs to create their own method”, but considering the amount of Chaos Magicians in the world today, coming up with a new method gets a bit tricky, but you can create your own methods through combination, and your own set of methods.

To go with an extremely simple method, Gordon White mentions that he simply gazes at the sigil which has a certain magical quality to it, but once it loses that magical quality and becomes a normal image on a bit of paper, then he knows that the sigil has transferred.

So there really are a plethora of methods that can be used to activate a sigil and to get into that gnostic, trance or liminal state in order to do that, just as there are any number of ways to actually create the sigil itself. Explore, experiment and most of all, have fun.
